Considering the writer and cast, this seems like self-satire to me. I don’t think the punching down rule applies.

I hope the police are able to track down his accomplice, Rutthead.
Everything Everywhere All at Once is amazing. Barring a miraculous collection of masterful movies this year (feel free to surprise me, 2022), it’ll be pretty high in my Top 10. Any excuse to praise it is OK by me.
I’m curious to see how “normal” this Cannes feels. My expectation is more normal, but not normal normal. Not yet.
I’m probably expecting way too much from Nekrokosm, but... Cosmatos + A24? That ticks some pretty important boxes.
Have fun going on report, Eggers!

I like The Living Daylights, but it isn’t powerful or bombastic enough to be a proper Bond theme IMO. The only exception to that rule is You Only Live Twice, which is so pretty (and lyrically appropriate) that it works anyway.
I only know the singles - not the albums - but I’ll take The Ground Walks... MM over Float On MM any day.

I’m frankly amazed that the article described a new British spy thriller featuring Gary Oldman without mentioning Le Carre in general or Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy in particular.
If they’re looking for a famous British person, I suggest Patrick Stewart. He was good in Excalibur and could probably handle science fiction.
That’s not divisiveness, though. Divisiveness is the *creation* of divisions, not the existence of divisions.
