If you went into a movie called Permanent Midnight expecting a lighthearted romp, I think that’s on you.

I liked her in Suspiria and The Lost Daughter, and apparently she is good in Daddio.
Damn. I was hoping it was Toad.
Pearl had a “delusional destiny” and was “passionately unhinged”, not Maxine.
If this is a remake of Nosferatu in the sense that The Northman was a remake of Hamlet, I’m very interested. Even so, Shadow of the Vampire will likely remain my preferred take on the material.
Indeed. It is beautifully shot, has a strong premise, and cleverly uses Dane DeHaan’s (few) strengths, but it all amounts to nothing. Mia Goth’s character is memorably annoying; at the time I wondered if she was Verbinski’s (or the casting director’s) daughter.
Pearl was indeed quite good, and retrospectively adds some poignance to X (I didn’t find it easy to empathize with the elderly makeup/prosthetic-obscured versions of Pearl and Howard).
I can’t say I find JH to be especially funny, but he keeps popping up in comedies that I love (Children’s Hospital, Travel Man, Toast of London, Curb, etc.) so I’d say he has good taste at least.
“Just handed in a film script that I think may be the funniest and best thing I’ve ever worked on...” doesn’t mean a whole lot coming from Josh Gad.
Should I know what a “Mutiny Girl” is? Because I do not.
Huh - I guess I’d better watch it then. I liked X, but I didn’t really think I needed Pearl’s origin story. Maybe I do!
I like Renner, but he seems like a very optional part of the M:I franchise.
That was definitely a joke, though.
They hired a mildly famous actor just to make dog-like noises? Weird.
There’s definitely some of that in I Saw the TV Glow, and it fits the character perfectly.
And now that the teaser (and more info) has finally appeared (https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/adam-sandler-is-a-haunted-astronaut-in-the-first-teaser-for-netflix-s-spaceman/ar-AA1lJKds?OCID=ansmsnnews11), we find that he’s going to the edge of the solar system, not the galaxy. I am pleased.
Way back in the way, I remember being frustrated by GEoD’s unwillingness to properly explain Leto’s “Golden Path” master plan but did enjoy the weirdness.
Maybe read it slower?
Neil Blomkamp is a one-hit wonder, at best.
Pluto has access to a surprising amount of content, including lots of recent high profile movies. IMO, their library (and Tubi’s) is noticeably superior to comparable streaming services.
