If something is “divisive” that usually means it creates two very distinct (good/bad) responses. Zhao’s “the divisiveness coming from critics and the fans” doesn’t make sense, nor does this article’s “divisive response to Eternals”.

Part 2 of NUDE - the Dune porn parody - will be released this year. Maybe he can mine that for a few story ideas.

I am strangely satisfied that Dune won for production design, effects, and score. The acting was solid and the story is, well, Dune, but the team made Arrakis feel real.

It takes a special gift to keep a really over-the-top caricature funny rather than annoying. Sasha Baron Cohen can obviously do it, as can John C Reilly (aka Dr. Steve Brule).

Dune in two parts plus DM to conclude the trilogy sounds great.

Robert Pattinson.

Agreed. I didn’t care for A Scanner Darkly, but the rotoscoping suited it.

Irrelevant wokeness is one of the signatures of the modern AVClub.

That’s a terrific quote from Jackson.

The populist Right is a much more homogeneous group than “The Left” or even any left-leaning subgroup (such as the center left).

It’s part of what makes Goggins’ casting exciting: It’s hard to think of an actor more capable of walking that key line between the deadly serious and the grimly comic.

This sounds a little like Lapsis, which I enjoyed. Is my definition of small budget/indie/political sci-fi too broad?

He was a lot of fun in Taskmaster 12 and I’ve been hoping to see him in something else. Good news!

It looked terrific for its time, like most Cinemaware games. But it pushed the Amiga too hard, resulting in a low framerate and sluggish responsiveness (like many Cinemaware games). After playing Speedball, which was released the same year, I couldn’t go back.

Good choices! I like all three and each has a very different persona. It’s not possible to prevent a 3+ hour ceremony from dragging at times, but the baton-passing approach should help.

Portland’s verson of an alphabet district is fun thanks to Couch St. and multiple inspirations for The Simpsons. It’s less subtle higher in the alphabet, though, as anyone living on Vagina St. already knows.
