It sounds like the Dee storyline from “The Gang Spies Like U.S.” expanded to 91 minutes with a tacked on romance and played straight.

Seriously. Why can’t people just sit silently and stare at the interviewer instead of answering questions?

Thank you for highlighting Acaster’s and Romesh’s contributions to Taskmaster. IMO all British comedians should be judged first by their work on TM (if applicable) and Travel Man (if applicable).

The key is to make sure that you summon TWO of them, not just one. That way they’ll duke it out (Candymen hate Bloody Marys) and you’ll have plenty of time to flee.

Agreed. It should only be the first 8.

In retrospect I guess she didn’t have to dig too deep to prepare for her small-but-meaningful role in Promising Young Woman.

Nigel Terry was better.

The Scarlet Witch supports that Scarlett bitch.

The problem is Tim Robbins, IMO; he’s just not funny. Erik the Viking should at least have been at least as good as Jabberwocky (i.e. not bad), but where Michael Palin gave us an entertaining simpleton protagonist, Robbins stopped at simpleton.

Code 46 was when I finally realized that Tim Robbins isn’t a particularly good actor and especially isn’t a good leading man. He seems to do best portraing characters that are in over their heads and losing control (The Player, Jacob’s Ladder, Bull Durham) in situations where the people surrounding him are driving the

I’ve never seen the Extended version, so that's the one I'll be going with.

Is anyone still Hungry for those Games?

I’m not sure that I’ve seen this, but if I’m thinking of the right movie it seemed like the elevator pitch must have been “Predator 2, but with Roy Batty and Lt. Valeris”.

Correct. And I was too slow to notice, unfortunately.

I know nothing about Dollar General or Family Dollar, but you don’t need to be low income to find Dollar Tree attractive. I have a list of 30-40 items that are a much better deal at DT than at the Safeway right next to it.

I’ve only seen 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, but I enjoyed him in that. He was funny, took the game seriously to the right (modest) degree, and seemed happy to share the spotlight.

It’s a pretty silly movie. I laughed out loud when Vincent and his brother decided to resolve their dispute by reliving their childhood swimming competition, but seeing the crew board their rocket in formal business attire was even funnier.

The concept of District 9 was fresh and compelling enough that many people were able to look past the clumsy execution and total lack of subtlety. It’s a B- movie that somehow acquired an A- reputation.

I must have heard about this at some point but gotten it mixed up with “A Quiet Place 2". Don’t Breathe was very good, and I thought it gave us exactly the right amount of information about the scary yet sympathetic “Blind Man”. I have no interest in learning more.
