Televised Oscars are pointless. Audiences are too different now. If they awards serious films for artistic merit, no one will watch. Yeah, you’re right. I’m way off. PS2 was released in 2000. I played on the original a lot longer than I thought. Man, realizing how many great games were on PS1 that aren’t on this, I guess this is a pretty bad deal.

I don’t care if this is a sucker’s game. Once they inevitably do the PS2 version of this an I can finally play Twisted Metal 2 again, they’re getting my coin. I won’t fell proud of myself, but I’ll do it.

I kind of felt that way about a few things, too. This story is inherently horrific and you don’t want to shy away from it, but they also veer into scenes that just feels like misery porn for the sake making sure you feel shitty after every episode.

I don’t remember if there was a particular film that added to the decision. I just remember the combination of the budget plus a hard R made it a no go, even with Tom Cruise and James Cameron involved.

Those are also the types of people that don’t visit niche sites like AV Club, so this won’t spoil anything for those types of people.
