This is a huge, misguided leap of logic that simply doesn’t make sense.  He’s clearly famous enough to not be some guy stealing a high end car.  

He didn’t have any plates (hence the no plates or registration part of the article).  They aren’t going to impound it for not running a front plate.  

Yeah, anyone driving in NY without plates or reg is getting pulled over, and the car is getting impounded. They didn’t impound him for forgetting his EZpass.

Seems like a great idea if you’re trying to become a boutique EV seller but your strengths are the drivetrain stuff. Great take on this one. If I were looking for a 318, this would be the holy grail, but on it’s own within the larger market where I can spend that $12,000 on whatever I want, it just feels like too much.
