4. You don't have to tie The Lord of the Rings to Game of Thrones to fit it in. Ben has clearly stated that he's not a fan of Peter Jackson's interpretation of the books.

Yeah, i was wondering about that comment. I don't know anyone who likes Reba McEntire in the least (except for maybe a few weird family members). That whole gee-whiz, "i'm so country aint i cute" schtick is annoying at best. But then again, i'm a replicant.

Yeah, this seems the more apt analogy. The Man Who Wasn't There, i believe, was shot in color (by the great Roger Deakins) and converted to black and white, and that looks beautiful.

Miller's Crossing, Barton Fink, O Brother— three way tie! Miller's Crossing has the best score, though.

The "annoying" stuff didn't take hold until the 3rd season (which i'm re-watching now). And one…

I like it when he later adds an 'r' thinking he's correcting himself— "cirsumvrent." Just beautiful.

I found the same thing watching the Walking Dead marathon leading up to the season 3 premier sunday (i had yet to see the second half of season 2). They kept showing promos and behind the scenes stuff with the actors and it looks like they basically spoiled the first half of the season for me. I tried to to flip…

But why would that (parenthood) make him lose touch with the actual behavior of real kids? In Close Encounters and E.T. (and to a lesser extent, Jaws) you have some of the best performances from kids i've ever seen— nuanced and natural and seemingly effortless. But then you have Raiders 2 and Hook, and he's gone in…
