so i guess james franco peaked with freaks and geeks then?

i haven't heard the term "pond scum" since the eighties.

he's a terrible dresser— that is not a good look.

but what is his stance on big butts?

even with all of the horrible movies he's done since 1995 or so, i've always said…"well, eddie murphy, in his day, was a comedy genius."

my brain hurts!

yeah, i laughed at it, too, while at the same time thinking "why didn't i think of that— seems so obvious?"

gonna raise some cain!

god, that conan playing old-timey baseball was fucking brilliant.

her austin city limits from about 8 or so years ago was really great.  she wore these giant pants and big boots and was thoroughly charming and kinda sexy.  i believe mitchell froom was there and had his wall of keyboards and the 99.9F° (which is my favorite album of hers) songs sounded great.

i haven't played it, though i'd kind of like to (i'm a lotr fan, but there are too many other games to play right now).  it seems to be getting good, not great, reviews— quite a bit better than the D given here.

the second one is.

but how do you get past someone who always talks in a tone?  it's kind of like when robin williams is doing a bit.  chris hardwick always talks like that, in everything i've ever seen/heard him do.  it's impenetrable for me.

i have a friend who *loves* chris hardwick, and on her behest i've tried and tried to *appreciate* him.  but just tonight i attempted to watch the watching dead or whatever that show's called, and i just cannot stomach him.  to me, he's just one step above michael ian black.  and i do not like michael ian black.

yeah, i see what you're saying, but even as a 13 year old boy in the 80's, i had no idea why anyone thought m.m. was attractive.  same with ginger on gilligan's island.  just too much OVERT sexuality and no mystery.  i just don't get it.  i'm sure it's a generational thing, but it's still a thing.  to each his/her

i only come to these infamous a.v. club game reviews to see how off the mark they are, and to read the comments after.

i am a 43 years old male, and i have no idea why anyone thinks that maralyn monroe is sexy, let alone interesting in any way at all.  i'm baffled.

i love the discontinuity guide!

and you can always go back and look at the originals to see just how bad/charming those effects were.

i like the alternate digital effects for this one.  they're retro enough that they look like they *could* have been done back then if doctor who had had a huge spfx budget.  kind of like star trek: tos does with theirs.  when these things are done well to mimic the original effects and used sparingly, i highly approve.
