Ah! See, I tried to hit reply without reloading and the page crashed:

Reading and replying to comments is a PITA. As you said, with an ad blocker on the process is a bit involved but I refuse to turn it off (those who read me before know my position on advertisement) and my workaround is a bit different. Here’s my process on PC: (I’m using firefox)

With about a liter of foundation, daily.

I’ve just posted this in another article so please forgive the repost, but I think it deserves to be seen. If you are in doubt about an *Android* App, you can look it up on Exodus Privacy. It’s a little technical, and basically every app comes with some trackers but it can help you make a more informed decision,

If you are using Android you can check with Exodus Privacy. It’s an French non-profit that audits Android apps and lists all permissions and hidden trackers.

Especially when those updates only add ‘features’ that we in no way want or need.

.. and please dismiss my comments when you’re done, lest I get one too in retaliation :P

btw you have an impersonator spewing trash around the kinja sites.

I’m all for adding extra layers for better privacy, but I must admit I’m a little reticent to send ~all~ of my traffic through cloudflare, say by combining this and DoH (for which cloudflare is the only suggested provider at the moment).

As a 4 to 7oz kitten ? Sure.

Oof.

The names alone scream sketchy af

Most likely because you have enhanced privacy enabled. It also prevents YouTube embeds. FB is definitely the worst offender as their video embeds double as trackers and depending how that embed was generated, might relay metrics about the context of the page on which its code was loaded.

Same. That’s because it’s a facebook video embed. You probably have your browser’s privacy features enabled or a social tracker/ad blocker on.

Yes, well, there’s also the alternative of not using Windows.

That doesn’t mean that windows is free to use.

It’s a gray area imho. If they really wanted to force people to buy a licence, they’d put a time limit. They have done so in the past, but chose to remove that limitation.

“replace the appropriate resource for the watermark (user32.dll iirc”

Or, you know, download the pro version freely from Microsoft and just never activate it.
