So I’m assuming Goyer and company didn’t have access to Asimov’s later novels on the Foundation (Prelude to Foundation and Forward the Foundation)? Copy rights issues?

I just saw it. Not bad, but the middle for about an hour in is a severe drag. And honestly, I can’t argue with many of your points.

I’m trying to follow your line of reasoning, but I’m coming up a little short. You’re saying because we can’t physically weigh an entire planet with a gigantic scale, we can’t be truly accurate in gravitational theory. That seems a bit of a stretch...If we were completely off base on how gravity works we’d never get a

Does the farmer have a debate with the ants on his land when wants to plow the field? Same here. Pray we aren’t in the way when they want to do something in our neck the galaxy.

I don’t buy Kurtzman complaint, at least not entirely. If old trek had been serialized, there’s no reason they would have had to focus on Kirk grieving. The ability to carry storylines from one episode to the next lets you build characters and tell more complicated stories, but doesn’t have to be enacted to the point

Yeah I’ll throw myself in that particular boat as well. As a kid I originally thought the whole not aging part of David was made up for the movie. Time slows down as you approach the speed of light? That’s silly...Then my dad said no, that really does happen. Kinda blew my 9 year old mind.

Of the many remakes, reboots, and reimaginings going on that usually leave me with a bad taste in my mouth, I am surprisingly okay with this.

Not exactly sci-fi, but always relevant. Especially now -

HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I’VE COME TO HATE UNDER THE DOME SINCE THE SHOW BEGAN. THERE ARE 39 EPISODES TOTALING 100,620 SECONDS THAT I WATCHED. IF THE WORD HATE WAS STAMPED ON EACH NANOSECOND OF AIR TIME FOR THAT SHOW IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR UNDER THE DOME AT THIS

You all fail. All of you.

Geeting a real under the dome feeling for this season of wayward pines. If they do make a third season, it will likely suck as bad as the third season of UTD.

Suspense - The Thing, the scene with the dog in the kennel. The movie has been playing a slow burn. You know something isn’t right about the dog, but you don’t know what. The music is very creepy.

Blew himself to bits if I remember correctly. Still has his son and wife running around.

Catholic here, most of us don’t care either.

I hope not. Miller and Holden play off each other really well in the books. With the last two episodes of the show, Jane and Strait did pretty well in bringing the same dynamic to the screen.

I have to agree with you. The pacing for the show just felt off. Perhaps because the book moved along so quickly it seemed like they padded out some of the episodes.

At least for me, I never had much of a problem with the fact Superman snapped Zod’s neck. Yeah it wasn’t very Superman like, but I also get MoS was supposed to show a SM still finding his place in the world and how to use his powers.

I keep hoping to hear some Texas twang when Alex speaks, but I suppose that would make for a bit of confusion on TV. Very much agree with you on Amos. Supposed to be older / much more stone-cold with the occasional glimpse of a soft spot for his crew. Not as a young hot head.

Please tell me the idiot child got killed...Loved the first season, but couldn’t stand the second. Gave up half way through...really don’t care if it comes back.

Agreed. I was watching and kept thinking - “That’s not how that works. That’s not how any of it works.”
