You’re right, I haven’t used them. I’m just the guy that gets the phone calls from his friends and family to fix the goddamn things when they break and all I can do is tell them to buy another one because they’re designed to be disposable.

I’m not so sure about that. I read a statistic recently that said that even with a hostile Congress, Obama was able to fulfill (or compromise enough to be considered a win) 70% of his campaign promises. And that’s actually really good - that’s about what most presidents achieve.

Semi-professional designer. Current situation is a MacBook Pro and a dumb Intuos pen tablet. Works for me.

Weird how creative professionals got along without touchscreens for so long.

Buying new? Cheapest MacOS computer is $499.

So, the thing that looks like the iMac - oh, sorry, it also has a touchscreen, as if that matters - starts at three grand.

I read the comments before watching the video, and I thought you might have been exaggerating, but holy shit... no, the cameraman absolutely zoomed right in on her chest at the end.

Major League Baseball appreciates the concerns of those that find the name and logo of the Cleveland Indians to be offensive. We would welcome a thoughtful and inclusive dialogue to address these concerns outside the context of litigation. Given the demands for completing the League Championship Series in a timely

I’m honestly surprised it doesn’t happen more often at stadiums around the country. Drunk fans plus railings that honestly don’t provide that much protection... I’m surprised.

It’s an old-timey thing. You have to say that sentence in your grandest King Arthur voice.

That is literally the reason for the existence of the House. The Senate exists so that California can’t roll over Rhode Island whenever it damn well pleases.

and, to top it all off, we have a body called the Senate which gives two representatives to each state regardless of population, so that each citizen of Rhode Island and Wyoming is afforded many times the political power of citizens of New York and California.

Any adult with good sense who wants a hug from anyone - not just a kid - asks. A simple, “Hey, can I have a hug?” And if there’s even a hint of reluctance, any adult with good sense backs down. And any adult with even a modicum of personality can handle the rejection without making the person who said no feel like

So, theft.

And going by the comments here, people actually think that’s reasonable.

Not defending their spending practices on advertising (which was obscene) but that’s not an insane welcome package. The priciest thing there is the MacBook, and that’s written off as a work expense. I’m a programmer for a much, much smaller company (like, a tiny fraction of what FanDuel was generating) and even I got

Not even close to the only two companies. There are dozens - the others are just smart enough to let FanDuel and DraftKings take the heat. Those two spent all the money, get in all the legal trouble, and all the others have operated well under the radar.

Have you not been watching sports on TV the past couple of years? The amount they’ve each spent on advertising has been obscene.
