That’s not how this works. You don’t get to say “if they didn’t deny it, it must be true”. There is no legal or journalistic standard that makes that okay.

I don’t think that’s overthinking it at all. It’s a reasonable strategy. That there was a real hack, nobody is disputing. And releasing some boring emails that the DNC, or whoever else, doesn’t dispute so that everyone comes to trust WikiLeaks... that’s just sound strategy.
