Okay, Calvin ;)

This is a referendum on the extraordinarily important issue of cereal dust. Your post vs. Covarr’s. Whoever gets the most stars wins. You have my vote.

I’ll give that a shot. I haven’t branched too far out from “add olive oil and a handful of whatever herbs are currently growing in the aerogarden on the counter” yet, but it’s been fantastic.

Literally the first thing I tried because I heard that was one of the things that saw the greatest increase in quality. When I baked salmon, it was always so hard to get it just right - the heat, the thickness, the time... I overshot and dried it out more often than not. Sous vide, though? Man. MAN.

I asked that of someone who posted a killer post-rock playlist a while back, and the answer was... you can’t. You pretty much just need to set it up manually.

While that may be true of how that score is used in the industry, in the wild, people look at a B and they consider it a very good thing - on a scale of F to A, like in school. When BvS came out, many, many commenters here were running around crowing about that score, using it as a datapoint for why the movie was a

Agreed, conditionally. The president sets the agenda of the majority party (when he/she leads that party) so it’s not as if the president just sits around waiting for bills to sign. And even when the president isn’t leading the majority party, look what happens - what has Congress been up to for the past eight years?

It may not be high for a CinemaScore (I don’t know about that), but I think to most people who were raised on the school scoring system of A, B, C, D, F, a score of B could be said to be a “high” score.

Cool. Now can we talk about how CinemaScore only polls people on opening night, and how worthless that is?

Ah, no. There aren’t enough minutes in the day to waste over 15 seconds intricately folding a single pair of socks - and that video was sped up. Probably more like 20-30 seconds. 7-10 pairs a week times four people in this house... forget it. I’m not spending 20 minutes just folding socks lol

“This is a subset of the most successful [dieters,]” he said. “If they don’t show a return to normal in metabolism, what hope is there for the rest of us?”

Oh good, another thread of puns with which to butcher the comments section.

I didn’t save the links, so you (or whoever else is reading this) will have to do your own due diligence, but I began researching the safety of sous vide at ChefSteps and branched out into a dozen other sites along the way. I can tell you that what I learned is that if you use bags made of the right type of plastic -

and sous vide. I swear, since learning to sous vide a couple of months ago, I’ve never eaten a better... anything. Any cut I’ve done has come out better than when I’ve done it on the grill or in the oven. I know it seems like the big fad right now, but it’s the real deal.

Yeah you get a discount, the discount is the ride itself.

They also make great insulation for your VAN down by the RIVER!

One thing I’d alter slightly - don’t get rid of all the boxes at the end. If you have the space, save a few of the ones in the best condition, folded up, in the back of a closet. They will absolutely be useful later on, when you least expect it, and at the times when you least want to go on the hunt for a box.

I gave up on Uber after my second ride. The first was in NYC, and it wasn’t great - the car was fine, but the driver was obviously not as skilled at working Midtown as he needed to be. But the second ride... in Austin... the kid (he might have been 18) picked us up in a shitty car, and proceeded to alternately talk on

“We’re going to charge you for making us wait.”
