“FEMALE!!” doesn’t mean anything in this context. That you use it to try to make a point, is foolish at best and idiotic at worst. What about this statement by the victim?

And you know damn well if he’d been physically assaulted, and nearly killed, while (for example) getting mugged he would have had a conniption fit if the perp was given less than a month. Not to mention giving the perp days off in between to possibly go back and finish the job, if he felt so inclined.

Let’s hope women manage to vote his sorry self out and take away all his judgey perks.

“Do you honestly think it make more sense for the government to spend a couple of hundred thousand dollar locking him up for 6 years.

“We ask judges to follow the rule of law, not the rule of public opinion.”

3D printing?

For now, here it is for anyone interested:

So what he’s saying is that the folks who were asking for a punishment that fit the felony that Brock was convicted of, are exactly like the racists who didn’t want black children in their schools. Got it.

I’ll also point out that BvBoE was only “unpopular” with a certain (ahem) segment of the population.

If not, I’m sure one of those snazzy makerspaces has the necessary tools.

Bring back the guillotine.

The only vaguely amusing thing about all of this is that if Judge Aaron Persky had given Stanford Rapist Brock Turner a normal sentence, even just six years, this whole thing would have blown over. Stanford Rapist Brock Turner would have probably gotten out in three years or less and his family is wealthy enough that

Integrating rich, privileged, white, male rapists back into society after abysmally short jail sentences is definitely the same thing as school desegregation.

Maybe overly pedantic on my part, but the victim wasn’t a student at Stanford. From the letter she read in court, Emily Doe indicated she was out of college, and was only there because she was attending a party on campus with her younger sister.

Me: “Persky? The judge who gave Brock Turner that bullshit sentence? I can’t imagine any way I could dislike him more.”

He’s digging a hole so fast the coal industry should hire him.

Then bury him.

I used to want him recalled. Now I want him set on fire.

There’s a part of me that flinches at reactionary implementations of mandatory minimums and limiting judicial discretion, but these looks like excellent and modest changes. I’m ok with convicted rapists not getting probation in any circumstance. Especially since the burden of proof is so high in sexual assault cases

“Even if the majority of the population thinks I’m a shitty judge, the bottom line is that I AM THE JUDGE, and only I should decide whether I am fit to judge others.”
