Another redhead with bipolar.i feel you. It is outrageous. Just because someone has a mental break does not mean that they are incapable of caring for their child forever. It's sickening.

Holy crap, never mind, read the full article- she wasn't flippant at all. The retelling on this article mis-characterizes the whole thing. She was professional at every turn.

Well, she did want to explain institutional racism, seems like she hit the nail on the head.

As someone pointed out in the Gawker article, administrators at that level tend to be intellectually mediocre and morally cowardly; they are careerists and act in no greater purpose than their own professional ones and their school's "brand." Solidarity with Ms. Gibney. Is there a petition I can sign?

She didn't cause this with flippancy. It's exactly what she was trying to teach them about, that came to "bite her in the ass".

Straight white males, the hidden/real victims of racism.

Let me get this straight: a black woman tries to teach white men about racism. White men complain. Institution sides with the white men.

Which brings me to my favorite vegan joke:

If I were to write an article on 15 years of being an AA to a B, it would consist of a single sentence:

I'm going to take this at face value and believe that it was just a panic attack and that she didn't threaten or attempt suicide. Because the news media loves to throw that little gem into their reports. If she had attempted to kill herself, the headlines would be "SUICIDAL MOMMY SENT TO HOSPITAL" or something like

I was hoping you were mistaken, but, nope.

This is so upsetting, horrible, sad- feel free to add anything. People keep pointing out that the actual article paints a grimmer picture. I cannot make myself click on that link. This is a horrible situation for the mother, her baby, and her family. I have so many questions. Why wasn't her family notified? What about

1) But Britain is not part of the EU

She had a panic attack. For that, they operated on her and took her fetus away prematurely. This is a horror show.

This is horrible, and I would guess that, legally speaking, this will most likely be the crux of the argument...

What the government did to this woman is terrifying and should be completely illegal. Acting in the child's best interest is one thing, but effectively imprisoning an adult woman and then forcing her to undergo surgery is insane.

Isn't it the craziest shit we were able to do before we got that damn adult fear wisdom?

I wonder if the folks at Life go through their archives some times and just think, "What the fuck?"

Well I just love them all. Just woke up, had a Thanksgiving joint, and looked at a bunch of super cool turkey feather fascinators. Dress #6 is killerrrrrr. Would wear.
