I overproduce on my solar panels enough to satisfy all the car charging I would need.  Thousands per year saved on gas on top of near-zero maintenance.

Guys weird

To clarify, buying a NEW EV is the dumb part.  Lots of great deals to be had in the used market.

A 2020 Bolt is like stealing at 13k!  Nice find!  A buddy of mine at my last company had one of those for his long commute and it was a perfect car for that purpose.

Thats awesome that you went EV even with all those miles you need to drive.  I am excited to go EV, but I just put a new hybrid battery into my trusty 2009 Ford Escape for just under 3k.  I dont ask that car to do a lot so it should last me a while yet.  Your situation sounds pretty great though.  Which EV did you

As someone who badly wants an EV and will be my next car, buying an EV right now is just dumb when depreciation is so high, there are incredible lease deals, and new battery tech is right around the corner.  I am not a lease person, but that is what I would do if I needed something now just to bridge until solid state

In the event of a Trump win, THIS guy is a heartbeat away from being Head Honcho.

This is the answer right here.  Do not buy an EV right now.  Killer lease deals available and will bridge you to the next tech that is coming in a few years in solid state batteries.  Some leases also cover thousands of kwh in free charging.

Youre telling me David Puddy WASNT onto something?

These should all have the disclaimer to get any extended warranty offered.

Had I seen this earlier, I’d have suggested a two-door wrangler about the size they were in the late 90s-early 00s. Something I can scoot around San Diego with the top down in. I no interest in the 4-door monster they currently offer.

We are waiting for the next battery tech before we buy. We might get a bridge lease to have a current EV take us to the next tech while we wait as our current ICE cars are getting up there in mileage and out of warranty.

That creator is so fully throated for Elon that I am not entirely sure that its not satire.

Thats a pretty good plan.

That makes sense.  Thanks for that response.  Yes, L3 charging will need to be much more ubiquitous.  I think itll get there but it will take time.  We have two years until our Telluride is both paid off and off warranty and will make a change at that point.  If we need to go on a long road trips, we will just rent

Have you looked lately where you may ever drive to on a road trip?  There are a lot more than I expected when I looked.  They just arent at gas stations where they really should be.  Instead they are at Holiday Inns and grocery stores (which are fine).  Either way, the situation is improving.

The Mach-E is dated?  How?  I think they still look pretty good...

Tourists bring a lot of money, yes.  But Cruise people?  They arent there for the hotels or the restaurants.  They are there to jam the city streets and to take pictures and mess up the joint.

Regular shareholders wont care and will stand by Musk, but institutional holders will definitely flee falling sales and they own quite a bit of Tesla.
