“Why are these leopards eating my face??”  -The Clines, probably

Yeah, itll be different for everyone depending on commute and location for gas prices.  I did used to drive 20k miles/yr with my previous job.  Luckily I had 30ish mpg.  At 4$/gal, thats 3k in fuel costs.  So you would have to put on a ton of miles just to come out even with the EV.  There are other benefits to

Theres already talk of it.  So I wont be surprised.

And he’s hitting his term limits on his governorship.

They dont have solutions or even a platform for anything, so they start culture wars that they feel will rile up their base.  I cant believe they arent tired of it yet.  It takes so much energy to care about shit like this.  Its like they have a website they have to check everyday to find out what to be pissed off

You’d think that would be an opportunity for an eye opening realization.  Nah.  Gotta be an FBI PsyOp.

No kidding. I would love an electric Telluride, but I sure as shit am not ponying up 50k, much less 80k, for one.

4 years of 4-5k annually in gas covers that 20k difference. Plus no worries about engine maintenance. I’m not going to pay that premium up front, but over the life of the vehicle ownership, they probably end up with the EV eventually on top.  Thankfully I can wait this out a bit longer.

Oh totally.  Just expressing surprise that these arent connected to something or have emergency measures when they seem to be everywhere else in life.  Seems like a glaring oversight looking back and surprise it took this long.  Hopefully its all rectified.

I remember being apart of a focus group for their website and app before everything launched.  I was surprised to hear that the idea was not in place for all that long and that the app/website were not far off from being launched.  Looked neat, but nothing I would ever have used.  And now they are gone like a fart in

I can do one knit HEAVENLY ski cap.  Retails for 759$.

Shit friends for sure.

That blows my mind though.  I’m not an avid skiier or anything but I would have bet my house that each of those cars had at least something for emergencies.

I’m glad it works for you.  We have our ICE SUV that we will take on those longer trips.  Our old hybrid will take us around town as long as it will still fire up.  Next will be a full EV since I am done taking care of another ICE for the benefit of (to me) not enough all EV range.

I mean, thats great that it works for many. I personally think the all-EV range is too small for my needs that my next steps would be a full EV and not a plug-in hybrid.

My 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid is still kicking with about 23-ish MPG.  Before COVID it maintained about 30-32MPG.  Some damage must have happened to the battery due to its drastic drop in use... but its still an amazing car.  Next will be an EV, if this car ever dies, which I hope it does not.

It works for me, too.  But some of those ranges are still quite small.  There are many that are higher, but the Jeep has 21 miles, a version of the Mini has only 18...  Those numbers are amusing to me.  A lot of tech to just add such minimal electric range.

Hybrids have all the maintenance of a traditional ICE, but also include the EV drivetrain.  All while the EV portion has a generally laughably small range.  Traditional hybrids have been great, plug-in hybrids dont make much sense to me.  If an EV fits, great.  If not, get an ICE.

Right.  Thats not a “fake” fee.  Thats just a BS upcharge.  Theres a difference.

I told the dealership that if it gets to the point they are checking parts for a WIN that I am already driving my replacement vehicle from my insurance company.
