I have real doubts Trump will lose.

And what drives me crazy is that Trump has now set a precedent for future presidential races. Now apparently it’s acceptable to lie, have zero actual policies, attack women, minorities, and disabled people, and refuse to release tax returns or any information about financial dealings, not to mention sexual assault.

I hope that a lot of TV journalists - even very good ones like Maddow - have a long, hard look in the mirror next week, whatever the outcome, and ask themselves about their editorial choices.

Where’s their outrage over GWB’s embassy deaths? He had the equivalent of 16 Benghazis with 66 embassy-worker deaths .

The “doesn’t write her own songs” thing is bullshit, and we know this because of how it’s always applied to women, not men. Old jazz/blues singers, like one of my faves, Billie Holiday, were expected to sing standards and put their own spin on it. Billie is famous for being a unique SINGER, not a songwriter. Singers

People always say this about female celebs - “her team/ her PR/ her lawyers/her parents”.

But why even bother going out of your way to say you don’t like an artists song? What response would you expect? I mean, you’re free to do so. But, why?

Art and artists can be powerful without “changing the course of history militarily or politically.” If an artist’s work affects millions of people, that artist is powerful. If an artist’s fashion choices can affect others, or that artist can say “Let me tell you about this thing and why it’s important to me” and

Right. It was especially difficult as their entire discography was purged from many country music stations across America. Their entire mass market success was effectively erased.

How is this article representative of stan culture, though? Each and every mention of Beyonce, a very famous person, can’t automatically be representative of stan culture. I mean, whether you’re a fan or not, she’s a big deal, and it’s a big deal that she was able to get the Dixie Chicks back at the CMAs.

“Third-rate reporter.”

Katy Tur, Sopan Deb and Ali Vitali deserve the longest, best vacation of their lives beginning a week from today.

Did I say a free pass? Not even a little bit. But do I think her issues are even remotely close to his? Not by a long shot. He is a monster and in many, many ways unfit to serve. She doesn’t come close to that. Sorry, she just doesn’t. I will cast my vote for her Tuesday with a clear conscience and a prayer she beats

I know I’m preaching to the choir here, but Obamacare enabled me to get insurance at a time I desperately needed it. It is not a perfect law, but the bad parts are almost purely about making concessions to a profit-driven healthcare system. Capitalism and medicine should have nothing to do with each other, ever.

Ugh. I know. I stopped looking at the polls because dammit.

I love that we finally get to be ‘brave’ for a change! Instead of ‘selfish’, ‘immature’, ‘lazy’, and all the other bizarre adjectives they love to apply to the childfree. (As if my personal reproductive choices had any bearing on these people’s lives whatsoever.)

I live in NY too, but still feel pressure - mostly it’s from my family, but I have also felt ‘othered’ at work by people with children and continuously have people try to convince me otherwise when I say I don’t want children. I agree it’d be worse in a less urban community because at least I have child-free friends

Yeah, I’ve kind of gotten used to the fact that whenever a friend has kids that I’ll see less of her. Not because she doesn’t socialize anymore, but because she will mostly socialize with other people who have kids. I mean, I understand the reasons why, but it still makes me kind of sad.

Sort of like Tea Party members getting elected to Congress saying that Congress is broken, do nothing in Congress, then say, “See, Congress is broken.”

Have you met Jessamina? Everything she says is creepily hostile and weird. See: Every Kardashian article ever.
