The biggest issue, as I see it, is that a lot of this training could be rolled into high school.  Not everyone is going to college and we need to get some vocational classes back in high schools.  The average age of a mechanic is 50ish years old.  Coincidentally there are very few high schools that still offer auto

I agree.  This was the best new who season with the possible exception of the first new who season.  I was tired of the baroque plots Moffat et Al churned out.

Latkes! Even just hearing the word makes me want to cry tears of joy! If only there was a place that I could order some (ok, who am I kidding, LOTS!) and have them delivered to my apartment with some real thick sour cream and fresh apple sauce......

I am an Italian American. Every holiday is an eating holiday.

You eat a Swedish person? British Christmas is really weird.

Thank you for putting all those there. I had forgotten about those Captain America panels and the context for their inclusion as being a sort-of response to the insane direction they took the Avengers in in Ultimates is really cool. I take Ultimates with about a half a shaker of salt because nowhere else would you

Is it okay to say that I hate Ultimates Captain America? Because I hate Ultimates Captain America.

What I love is that the MCU Cap behaves the way Superman SHOULD behave in the DC abominations. Cap is more Superman than Superman.

We’ll get to it next month, but in The Avengers he even thinks his getup is hokey and “old-fashioned,” but Nick Fury tells him “People might need some old-fashioned right now.” Captain America is more or less just what the public wants to call him, but to himself he is Steve Rogers, Avenger.

“You have been getting insulted by nextwave

The Ultimates features the most unlikable versions of all of the Avengers. For anyone wishing for mature Marvel superheroes, this is the crock of shit waiting for you.

Yeah for sure, but I think it would have been very easy for a film version to descend into ra-ra Americanism. Zack Snyder’s Captain America...doesn’t bear thinking about

Cap is and always has been a Social Justice Warrior. And I say that in a positive manner.

There’s a difference between flawed and a superhero team that sees nothing wrong with incest and had events that killed off most of their characters in a pointless and unessecarally violent manner.

The Ultimates Universe, with the exception of the Ultimate Spider-Man books, was basically the closest thing Marvel had to an evil counterpart universe.

Yeah they go out of their way to dodge the potential jingoism of Captain America. In the MCU he’s Earth’s hero, not just America’s.

This right here is basically when I threw The Ultimates across the room. What a shit book.

I think one thing this movie deserves kudos for is how it goes out of its way to show that Steve Rogers isn’t basically this asshole:

Is the eel alive or dead?

I feel like there should be some Seal News and the leading story is “What young seals are doing now will shock you! Tonight our reporter talks about the new craze hitting the beach this fall Ealing and how you can identify if your seal pup is doing it too.”
