That would’ve been in ‘89-90, when I was 5. Academics weren’t something I struggled with that much - I was already reading then - but there was also clearly something “wrong” with me that had my parents concerned. I’ve seen a home video that a relative made back then, and I was acting more like a typical 3-year old

Reading that makes me wonder (not for the first time) how on earth I was diagnosed as ADD as a child. I fit few of the ADHD symptoms on that list.

Yeah, I don’t think so either. I think the US government just cares that whatever benefit you put on the box is something it actually does. So you can sell the same ibuprofen pill in a bunch of different boxes marked “headache”, “backache”, “cramps”, etc because it does help with all those things - you just can’t

I think you’re thinking of Motrin, which is just ibuprofen. Midol is Tylenol plus a diuretic.

This whole healthcare thing is going to bite republicans in the ass no matter what they do. They made an impossible promise to their constituents - that their plan would ensure more coverage to more people at lower cost and it would be optional and cost the government less and not be a public option. And now they have

“A budget that puts #AmericaFirst must make safety its no. 1 priority”

A story broke this morning that probably-a-foreign-government has hacked multiple cell towers in the DC area and is engaging in a very large amount of suspicious traffic that may include tracking phones and installing malware.

Very very interesting. Though I’m totally side-eyeing them calling the subjects of surveillance “customers”. 🙄🙄🙄

The Russia stuff looks like it’s going somewhere, though I suspect that it’s going to be a huge crisis and not just a neat and easy impeachment.

I dunno. I saw a video earlier of Chuck Grassley and Diane Feinstein making a statement to the press after their confidential briefing with Comey the other day about the Trump - Russia stuff. They looked like they’d just seen someone get axe murdered. Grassley didn’t even say anything, Feinstein made a statement to

I think a lot of Americans don’t realize that, just like in the US, people in other countries have local accents.

In all seriousness, what is it about that that creeps you out?

Sushi chefs in the US are mostly Korean or Mexican, so probably not.

I’m not sure, but since he mentioned “intermarriage”, I think that’s the exact thing he’s “concerned” about.

A lot of businesses don’t pay income taxes because they don’t make much/any profit. That being said, lots of large successful companies game the system to dodge taxes, and something should be done about that.

“I believe and the president believes firmly that if you create a system that’s accessible for everybody and you provide the financial feasibility for everybody to get coverage, that we have a great opportunity to increase coverage over where we are right now,”

I think one of the big differences between this and Occupy is that, at least from what I saw, Occupy tended to have a lot of disaffected unemployed counterculture teens/twenty-somethings, while this nascent progressive movement is full of soccer moms and seniors and professionals and blue collar folks and all sorts.

What the hell.

Bannon wants to overthrow the whole world order, end the EU & NATO, etc. He’s talked about war with Iran & war with China. I doubt war with Iran will be international enough to meet his goals. I don’t think he’ll settle for anything less than WWIII.

Bannon has actually, for real said he wants to tear down the state and the entire post-war world order of relative international peace, and return to the nationalism of the 1930s. He does want to blow it all up - and he’s on the NSC.
