Not Clever Enough for a Clever Name

A good friend of mine had a 1996 4Runner that she drove to 450k mikes before donating it to charity. I couldn’t believe how well it held up over those miles but she is a stickler for maintenance. She’s the only person I’ve ever known to have to replace a set of factory wheels because they were starting to warp from

Bitchin’

Not only have I seen them but I’ve also smelled them :-)

At $3k for a running and driving car no major blemishes or obvious issues I am solidly in the NP category. Buy it, maintain it and drive it until it falls apart.

Georgia doesn’t require a title on anything prior to the 1986 Model Year so registering in-state shouldn’t be an issue at all. Not sure how this would work if transferring to a different state.

My neighbor is a roofer and he uses an app that does the estimation for him. I don’t remember the name of the app but he goes to a site to look and make sure there is nothing that will make the job harder/more expensive and then uses the app to get the number of squares needed.

If only there were a cheap universal tail light assembly that someone could stick in the back. I seem to remember a video of some guy in his basement going on for 20 or so minutes about their origin story... hmmmmm, maybe I just dreamed that.

Yes, it was great in the mud with the right tires.   It did shine on narrow off-road trails and often impressed people with how nimble it was but I later had an 06 Rubicon and it was better in every way.  It certainly wasn’t an interstate cruiser but the additional power made a world of difference.

I had one of the early 97 models that was made in early 96 and the combination of the 4 cylinder and the soft top and half doors make this Jeep a pain to live with.

I had forgotten how good Top Gear used to be.  Now I’m just sad.

If owned by someone from our northernmost state, the bear could enjoy a nice “Baked Alaskan.”

I drive an average 650 miles per week in rental cars. I have had multiple intermediate sized cars and the Sentras are by far my least favorite. They are slow, noisy, cramped (I’m 6'2, 240 lbs) and have horrible ride quality.

I came to post this.  Gearing can make up for low power until you hit mud and need to have wheel speed to keep the tread clean.

I’m pretty sure those were front wheel drive. That let the designers have a flat floor I'm there living quarters.

That’s exactly what I do.  Keep an empty cup to spit them into and you’ve got miles of snacking.

I like those or pistachios still in the shell.  It extends snack time nicely.

I always asked my parents to get a Winnebago.  My dad, in truest of dad style always asked “Who won a bago?”

There’s nothing more expensive than a cheap European luxury car. CEL is on and if it’s that minor they would have fixed it before putting it on the lot.

If only we knew someone who
