@EdnasEdibles: Thank you for that. It's so much better (and more heartbreaking) now that I know what she said...
@Polly Sorbate: Snort! I snorted at "Crasshole"!
@Ensign Kimbabeagle: Yeah, he's actually great to work for and believes in the power of affirmative action and looking outside of his white male privilege.
What a cute suit. Looking fabulous, Brit!
I actually work for a tech event, and the frustrating thing is: how do you recruit good people to present, male or female? My (male) boss is all about getting women involved in our event, and often reminds us we need to be throwing women's names in the ring to represent on every topic we discuss.
@FleurDeLis: Unfunny, and completely unoriginal. :(
@The HZA.: Um, yeah. Didn't do that for my wedding because I didn't understand them.
Wow. This post made me tear up.
@Kit Cloudkicker: True. I don't think I could have an abortion at all for any reason.
@msmoneypenny: Um...yeah. Talk about entitlement.
What I want to know is what to do if an acquaintance is going through a bad illness, and you had started to come to the conclusion that she was a jerk right before she found out about it?
@FUCKINGSPARKLES: Unbelievable. You deserved better understanding of your grief. People can be well-meaning but kinda dumb.
@girlinthegarden: Amen! Exactly!
@girlinthegarden: Definitely helps you to feel compassion for others in the same situation.
@trampkin: It can be pretty awkward. I want to be caring, but it's hard when you have no idea what to say about her personal problems...
@TwoRandomPennies: I mostly do try to ignore it, but man, the tension. Sometimes she tells us what's wrong, but then the day turns into a therapy session. Neither option is great.
What about a coworker crying at her desk right next to you? This happens a lot. Never quite sure what to do...
