I’d blame her team more. Even if the part where she didn’t read the email is true, her doc and trainer should be reading that email and telling her. I bet she is pissed at them considering she likely pays them a lot of money.

Yeah it sounds like her team failed her. She pays them in part to monitor all this stuff. Her coach likely keeps track of any and all rule changes, so you’d think her doc and trainer would keep track of any drugs that become banned.
Zojirushi. I bought mine on sale for like $100. Still going strong after 5 years of use.
Thank you. I went back and deleted my myspace that I haven’t looked at in 12 years. Just in case.
Exactly. I do find it strange when some people only compare mortgage vs rent whenever it should always be PITI vs rent so you definitely make a good point in reminding people that other payments exist on a house besides the mortgage.
That sounds like more of a unique situation since you had to file for bankruptcy and the bank took the home from you. Sorry to hear that btw. If you didn’t have to do that and kept the house all those years from when you bought it at 74k to what it’s worth in 2014(125k) then you would be up 50k. You’d also be almost…
Oh totally, it really depends where you live and what the rental/housing market is at the time. The NYT calculator that Kristin linked too is good for comparing which one makes more sense. I live in the DC metro area and in some places it makes no sense to buy, while in other areas renting makes no sense if you have…
Oh for sure, I meant it more as a comparison/balance to the whole opportunity costs of investing the down payment. I just see many people say it makes sense to just rent and invest your down payment without considering where the housing market is at in their area.
But the same can be said for how much you will make via opportunity costs by investing that down payment instead. You don’t know how much you’ll make if you invest that 30k down payment either.
True. It’s quite possible to not make any money from it by selling.
You forgot, how much money will I make when I sell the house in 7-10 years. You have to include that if you’re going to include opportunity cost of your down payment, especially now while the market is still very much down in many parts of the country.
Yup. That’s exactly what I’ve been doing. I have a short-term emergency fund where I keep a few thousand extra in both my checking/savings account and money market fund(I let this build up a bit then invest some of it once it gets high enough). This allows me to cover any immediate concerns(car issue, house repair).…
About a week. I have enough credit that I can take care of almost any major expense by putting it on my credit card first, then paying it off a week later from my brokerage funds.
I have this, but put it in the stock market in a bunch of index funds. So unless I lose my job along with the market tanking(my job actually thrives when shit goes belly up) I’ll be in pretty good shape. I have about a year of expenses in it.
It seriously is. It’s cheap too for the quality.
Yesss!!! More amazon points!
It’s funny how you don’t think Mad Max was deep enough, yet think Spotlight which is just another journalists investigate horribly wrong thing and put a “Spotlight” on it is somehow more deep and nuanced. Sure it probably films it better than other journalism movies, but the whole premise is the same as any…
Another story about journalists investigating something wins best picture, sigh..I wish Mad Max would have pulled out the win. It would have been a huge change from the type of film that typically wins.
Yes! I wrote in another comment how I hope he plays more of those roles too. I feel like that’s where he shines versus the super serious role. I thought he should have won for Wolf of Wall Street. That role fit him to a T.
He needs to do more roles like Wolf of Wall Street* and Catch Me If You Can. I feel like he’s best when he’s playing a zany type character. I think he’s able to, it just wasn’t going to win him his Oscar so why bother. Hopefully things change now.
