"How Carlos Tavarish Squeezed Profits Out Of Peugeot"

Amber, girl, let it goooooooooo

As someone who works in Higher ed fundraising, specifically Bequests and Trusts, I feel like part of the story is missing here. Does the school not have any LGBTA resources at all? I think it's interesting they said they wanted to discuss a resource center "partly for LGBTA students". This sounds like they wanted a

I was seriously wondering how the hell you can turn your back on $15mil, but you've got that answer covered. Endowments are insane!

In the state of Alabama, there isn't much difference between the state and the University. UA is a feeder for all things political in Alabama. Such a move would have much more serious affects if it was more money. It's just too bad they didn't have a bigger chunk of change to deny UA. Sadly, while this will make

Their endowment is over $60o million. And a nontrivial portion of their fundraising probably comes from even more wealthy donors willing to part with their cash now, and have no interest in having Alabama building LGBTQA centers. The administration would only change their stance for political reasons, 15 million

Reading the headline, my thought was, "Oh, it's too bad that the mediæval bigotry going on at the state level is hurting a university that doesn't agree with such things," but it sounds like the university isn't exactly rushing to take a stand for basic decency here. And anyways, the state clearly needs to learn that

If they really want to be spiteful, they should donate that money to the Auburn football program.

I fully support their stance and they have every right to withhold any gift or donation. That said, it saddens me that those potentially suffering most are the students.

Yeah, I would do all kinds of stuff for that money. Actually, maybe I should send them a letter...

ROLL TIDE!

Thanks, 'Bama.

You know - I kind of feel for this University administrator in some ways. You KNOW that if she took the money, there were string attached in terms of using the money for the needs of LGBT students on campus. You also know that lots of good ole boys would not be happy if all of sudden the old alma mater was seen

That's some pretty seriously held prejudice there if $15-18 million won't shift it.

Alabama: We make up the rules as we go because we value our hate more than anything

"Price of doing business!"

Consider the history.

That's a pretty epic mic drop on their part.

...but some local judges are still declining to issue marriage licenses. The state's Supreme Court has insisted the ban is constitutional.
