You aren’t actually paying that out of pocket if you’re insured. Just a fraction of it, only up to your out of pocket max at most. Obamacare plans also cover most pregnancy and childbirth costs, as it is considered an essential health care expense. The meme is misleading. Women here don’t pay that much to give birth.
