I'm sympathetic. It takes emotional resilience and strength to support a child of color being raised in a racist town. She didn't sign up for that. The damage she seeks can help her find resources and skills to provide both her child and herself with the best abilities to thrive in a fucked up community.

I guess...except he did leave Lockwood there over night before deciding what to do...

"I wouldn't want to imply to a woman that had come close to death that she had terminated her possibly much wanted fetus like she had had a choice in the matter."

As much I appreciate Ms. Davis speaking out, and understand that the backlash is going to be fierce for her, I look forward to the days when more abortion stories like this one are being shared.

I think it's important to classify all these procedures as abortions, ectopic or otherwise. When we start delineating, we also start deciding which abortions are morally appropriate.

Thank you! The cavalier tones with which some blogs (including certain sister blogs) are reporting on this "scandal" have been really disappointing.

Her tongue, her choice. I'm sick of the way moral asceticism is used to police women's bodies.

Fair enough.

Scrunchies are back! Hilary is so delightfully normcore.

I'll have to check it out (also because I love TT). Interesting that there is a biopic out where the woman isn't consulted much because of trigger potential.

No, does it relate? (I really *love* TT in Mad Max though.)

That's a good point. The gendered bias re aging actor bios is just an idea kicking around in my head. I would have to do some more reading up to see if there's any substance to it.

Yeah, I just wonder if those living bios play out across gendered lines?

I know Dolly's in on the plans, but producing a bio about someone who is still alive strikes me as a bit ageist in a gendered sort of way. Just because Dolly Parton is older doesn't mean she has expired and is available to be commemorated. But it speaks to her business savvy that she's capitalizing on the society's

agreed, I was being prejudiced against ponies by holding all of them responsible for your behavior.

True. I shouldn't reduce all ponies to your behavior.
