That's what I thought. It can be controlled by eating like a forager, read: nuts and vegetables and no processed carbs. It doesn't sound as fun as pie!

Totes. I've just had a couple buddies who went through the gestational diabetes thing, and type II diabetes is big in my family, so that one condition is more on my radar.
Ok, mommy wars and size shaming aside, aren't there certain developmental concerns tied to gestational weight gain that are worth worrying about? I mean, obvs that I don't want smug advice from the Daily Mail, but I also don't want to get gestational diabetes, etc.
