These are all trial balloons, folks. When he gets skunked in November 2020, he will not leave and claim that the 1. the election was rigged and 2. there is no power to actually remove him.

Stallman is well known for being just plain weird and a social misfit. His contributions to computing and software in his early genius years have earned him far too much slack. I don’t know if he’s an Aspie but he marches to a different drummer, and that drummer is living rent free in his head and WON’T STOP DRUMMING.

By all accounts, Ben Carson is a very gifted brain surgeon. He also has to wear slip-ons if his wife isn’t around when he’s getting ready because he is among the stupidest human beings to have ever walked the earth.

ex husband of a physics PhD here, can confirm correct.

The rate of this situation among real geniuses is why I’m reluctant to force them out of their work. I’d rather quarantine them away from potential victims and let them keep cranking out science, not blackball them out of their field. Unfortunately, smart people can be real assholes, and we need smart people.

It’s kind of like sports, in a way, right?

Didn’t we all learn this from Ben Carson?

Here’s the thing that pisses me off about guys like that (this professor, not your friend.) It’s that I understand them.

Faculty member here as well, thirding (after Insomniacrobat) this post.

There are a great many incredibly intelligent people in education as a whole, but the post-secondary ranks seem especially adept at attracting folks who are borderline geniuses in their field who also happen to lack the ability to understand that

I used to work for UPenn. You hit the nail on the head.

The one person I know with an actual PhD in rocket science is a diehard Trump supporter. Go figure.

I have a ‘computer nerd genius’ friend. The mentality that makes him great at programming makes him hopeless in other aspects of life. Applying ‘rigorous logic’ to everything can lead you down some pretty deep rabbit holes. I’ve seen him doggedly follow a train of reasoning and conclude: Nazis flew flying saucers in

Nobody better “Not ALL Men” me because there are a large amount of men who do think a child isn’t a child when they’ve decided to objectify them. The only thing, apparently, holding these men back is the laws of consent. They don’t even really care about consent anyway, but anything that restrains them for living the

Perhaps this might help Stallman understand more clearly:

On September 14, Stallman addressed his earlier post: “Through personal conversations in recent years, I’ve learned to understand how sex with a child can harm per [sic.] psychologically. This changed my mind about the matter: I think adults should not do that. I am grateful for the conversations that enabled me to

yeah, but you have facial features and a personality - two things that a-rod is unburdened by, and you cant have burgled.

Eat the rich.

Conservatives actually do call for action-if, of course, the perpetrator was either a Muslim or an undocumented immigrant. All other times, particularly if the weapons were legally purchased under the 2A, it’s “thoughts and prayers” and “we’ve gotta increase mental health checks”. Anything except actually doing

They are okay with this. One of them was even -shot- and is still okay with this.

If you don't want to repeal the 2nd Amendment, that means you are OK with this. REPEAL THE SECOND AMENDMENT.
