Exactly. Most people on this site forget that when they’re grandstanding about their pet boycott projects.

idiotic remark by the kotaku staff, as has already been shown, players can pick visual (body type) and vocal/voice traits, as well as pick the witch/wizard dormitory to create whatever avatar they’re comfortable with.
how about supporting all the writers and developers who poured their heart and soul into what looks like an awesome adventure in a wonderful universe that’s bigger than the original author and her real life politics?
Not to mention the original Dying Light was in 2015, not 2018 as the article states. The link even goes to a review from Kotaku in 2015 so not sure how you get that so wrong.
I’m with ya and I can’t wait to drown myself in this game for the next few months, but I’m not blind to most of those 500 hours being more fat than actual meat
No, don’t.
That would require Kotaku to actually do simple research, which is largely a thing of the past with the majority of the writers.
They clarified the 500 hours is if you wanna replay the game with multiple endings and decisions. the campaign and side quest are no where near 500 hours in a single run. this headline is misleading and so is the article that follows it.
I certainly can’t attest to anything personally with this Ubisoft story, and I understand it’s not a great look. But if one of those people making $150k can go make $175k elsewhere and Ubisoft will be worse off without them, it makes all the sense in the world for Ubisoft to pay them to stay.
Pretty much this. Senior staff are much more valuable than junior staff so companies are willing to spend much more to retain them. Junior staff are sadly far more expendable.
Because the people making the most money will be most capable of finding other employment that pays better?
No, they’re not.
Also they literally just opened the studio and are actively hiring on their website and linkedin. “How dare they launch their business before having a perfect representation of every gender identity, race, and affiliation!”
There’s 8 people on staff, and have you considered maybe the first people they chose to hire were their friends?
You are operating under the assumption that he wasn’t specifically asked about the scandal, which neither this article, nor the article it is referencing said. In fact the original article preceded the quote with a question.
You are stretching mighty big here with zero proof, just your own opinion. You make the claim like the purposely have a female dog.. so if it was a male dog as the Chief Morale Officer would that make a difference... its a dog... people love dogs. They raise moral.. Why must you insinuate something nefarious here?
What is also relevant is WHY they left... but of course that information is not give at all..
firstly, stop. That’ just a silly argument.
No it doesn’t, what happens after the studio is formed and starts actually hiring people.
Jeez...it’s a freaking startup, can you just give him some slack.
