Definitely an interesting idea and what exists is really fun to play, but it also only takes a couple hours to realize the game wasn’t ready for release. There are a handful of things in the game that have no purpose and the developers response to all of them has just been “we ran out of time”

It auto resuming updates that I paused would annoy me 10x more than having to wait 10 minutes for it to download when I decide I want it. I pause them for a reason

You mean leaving the site like they would when they go buy the game? Either way you're leaving the site. There are also thousands of different stores offering countless deals. I haven't bought a new release game for full price for years. It would be impossible to gather data for all sources.
