They had such good casting choices, including the Mother. I’ll never forgive that show for the way it ended (or really its last 3 or 4 seasons)

I’ve heard so many otherwise conservative Boomers crap on Boone. Even they know he was a hack and that he stole from better artists of color.
People hated the diner too.
I was kinda hoping for some deconstruction of that somewhere with this show, where Boba at first hates his captors and thinks of them as savages. Boba is a bit too noble, I wanted more of a transition from trying to kill Luke to freedom fighter.
It was....fine. I liked the Rancor lore from Legends being brought into this on how emotionally complex they are, was overjoyed to see Danny Trejo make a cameo, liked the idea of the biker gang, but the chase was kind of lacking and low-speed, and the color scheme seemed....off for some reason. It has for everything…
NPH had some Doogie Howser recognition and Harold and Kumar, but Hannigan was definitely by far the most recognized of the cast. I didn’t really know Segel until this show and later Forgetting Sarah Marshall, but he did have the Freaks and Geeks cred
I think if they were going to kill off the Mother, they should’ve given us more time with them together, introduce her much earlier and show Ted’s grieving process. They seemed dead set on saving meeting the mother for the finale, but if he had met her season 4 or 5 but just continued the show I don’t think anyone…
I still can’t watch that because previous episodes heavily implied that she was going to die.
It’s definitely more realistic and reflective of our bleak present
Really Dewey IS a Shakespearian tragedy. All of the main cast is, condemned to constantly have psychos out to kill them. Once did enough damage to Laurie Strode.
I remember HIMYM bashing online dating as something only desperate people did in its first few seasons
I for one hope it is, except when Kim is describing it the kids keep butting in with how problematic and disturbing her stories are
Well that’s sad to know my window has long since passed
I always found it somewhat terrifying, they aren’t only fundamentalists but believe they have to breed armies of the Lord as part of the Quiverfull movement.
Also Animal Planet for a while had the slogan “Surprisingly HuMan” (so was it trying to be Spike TV?!) and had reality shows with barely any animals at all. They seem to have gotten better lately.
I’m imagining him and Norm coming up with better stories as to how he died
True
I think it could, it would just be much different due to the changing trends of today. The content has been just as vulgar in more recent race-related movies.
There’s an argument that islanders get some leeway American-born African Americans don’t get. But there also are prejudices against foreigners on top of racial prejudices, so I can’t see how that’s true, especially if you don’t speak English coming in. But in some cases immigrants also look down on African Americans…
Oh yeah, definitely still is. But increasingly likely it was natural and not drug-related.
