Yeah there have only been like, 3 or 4 major crashes and recessions in the last couple decades. Great system, line forever goes up, totally sustainable to have infinite growth that never plateaus.

There seems to be some cognitive dissonance in a capitalist society in which we want everyone to be working, multiple jobs if possible, and laud the richest CEOs as “job creators”...and meanwhile said creators are constantly trying to “trim the fat”, do more with less, fire as many employees and foist their workloads

I did not know that

Britney’s been posting IG nudes since her emancipation, more power to her.

They definitely are gonna have trouble reconciling the fact that our overlords want an endless suppy of workers to grind into powder and toil away for 8+ hours a day with the fact that they want half the workforce to also be home focused on raising a kid and nothing else.

Yeah I was struck by the wording of that comment. Small step? Sure. More to be done? Absolutely. But words like “pathetic”, “craven”, “feeble” etc....what exactly did they expect?

Because ultimately, these folks want to take women out of the work force, so they can be nothing but stay at home mothers.

I get that the whole point of this is that these words are largely meaningless unless you’re terminally online, but this article definitely goes out of its way to be more confusing than it has to be on purpose.

I once met Dana Snyder when I was doing Artist Alleys at conventions. I was sharing a booth with another artist who had done a Master Shake print, and If I remember correctly, he bought a bunch so he could have them at his table to sign for people.

That’s fair, but I do think if your actions are basically serving the right due to brainworms, you may not BE them, but you’re unwittingly serving their cause.

I get that, on paper, someone like Taibbi cannot, I suppose, be explicitly labeled “right wing”.

I think if your top concerns in today’s political climate is the woke left, and you think the woke left has all the power while right wing bills are getting passed left and right, and the SCOTUS is overturning historic precedent, and you still insist the right isn’t a threat, despite everything going on right

Yes, I did edit my comment so figured you may have missed the Taibbi quotes.

I posted in my comment several quotes direct from Taibbi where he paints the “woke left” as a bigger problem than the right.

I mean, okay? I’m not subscribing to his substack, I’ve seen enough of his ranting on Twitter to show me more than I need to know.

Elizabeth Warren and Matt Taibbi have nothing in common.

I feel like Thomas Haden Church’s Sandman is anything but forgotten.

Ah ok, that makes more sense. I had always thought it had negative connotations because of articles about how those Disney villains were “queer coded” in order to tie queerness to villainy, or some such.

Do they have to? If a woman character mentions a girlfriend but doesn’t say “I’m a lesbian, by the way!” is that somehow not being explicit enough?

If it’s implicit is that still “coded as queer”? I always thought “coded as queer” was used as kind of a derogatory phrasing for villains who are often given mannerisms or traits typically associated with queer folks without actually being considered queer characters, like Scar in Lion King or Ursula in Little
