I think the big draw for No Way Home was partially the familiarity with Spider-man and the actors, but also the whole idea of pulling past Marvel movie franchises together into the fold of the multi-verse.

I mean since the current MCU modus operandi seems to be “bring back random cameos so people will point at the screen and get excited like Leo in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” it seems like Multiverse of Madness could certainly piggyback on the No Way Home success.

I think oversimplification is a frequent thing in this show. I had kinda the same issue when they showed Elizabeth being told her idea wouldn’t work, and being encouraged to go party and be a 19 year old, and then it immediately leads to sexual assault. Not to downplay what happened, but it feels like setting up that

This isn’t even the first time the AV Club has made it like “oh she started out so promising, she was brilliant and had great ideas” like maybe it was all bullshit from the get go? Sure seems that way. Why this site is determined to make everything seem like it started on the up and up before going bad is wild.

This article, at least, doesn’t seem to comport itself as a “review”, and actually delves a great deal more into the movie itself than the AV Club did.

I’m inclined to agree. Not much going on here.

I guess I just don’t give a fuck about Mitski. Sorry that seems to upset you.

Maybe I’m missing something, but I wish this article explained more about the connective tissue between the war in Ukraine and the supply chain of producing cars in Germany.

I’m not sure “ignorant” is the word you’re looking for here. We’re talking about a pop musician, not like, systemic racism.

I’ve never heard of Mitski outside of the AV Club. But I’ve heard A LOT about her from the AV Club.

Yawn, Who?, It was in total darkness, Ok that was cool, What?, It was in total darkness, It was in total darkness, He already did that, Yawn, Yawn, Yawn, What?, What?, One of the worst moves she could have made, Yawn, Don’t remember, Ok that was alright, What tension?, Dany’s choice was terrible and didn’t have nearly

Movie prices have been going up forever, as the article even mentions. So like, what’s the story here? Also, I almost expect theaters to have raised prices, considering there was like, a year or two where almost nobody was going to theaters.

Not just still alive, but still ACTIVELY working. He has two roles in 2022 releases, and 2 more upcoming projects in post production. The man is in his 90s!

His exaggerated kid design makes it kind of less obvious but his mom, seen at the end, pretty clearly has Asian features.

It’s a CLEFAIRY you monster.

The problem is that the review ALSO doesn’t get to the main purpose of most film reviews - was the movie actually good, and for what reasons did the reviewer like/dislike it?

Yeah, I’ve heard people say that even though the PAPER is not great in itself as far as the reasons given, it still doesn’t mean it isn’t valid with regards to the different Tyrannosaurus species, but from what I’ve read (in my unscientific opinion) it sure seems like this is based on some suspicious findings.

I hate the idea that’s become so romanticized of the Steve Jobs or Elon Musk type who comes up with a “visionary” idea and then just says “ok, now the rest of you somehow make it happen!” And then the person who had the “idea” gets the credit.

This sounds kinda like the last 15 minutes of Little Miss Sunshine stretched out for a whole movie.

I think Cho was the best part about this show. He didn’t have the cool factor of the anime Spike, or rather it was kind of a different cool factor, but I really liked his aloofness and world-weariness. He got some of the best lines of the show. I remember laughing out loud when Jet and Spike were stuck on a bus in
