The premiere was great. This episode deserved a C though. It really was one of the worst episodes of Rick and Morty ever. Some episodes in Season 3 were just as weak though. So it’s not like this show has ever been particularly consistent.

Completely agree. This review was so well-written, really top-shelf tv writing. It made a clear, nuanced case for why this ep didn’t land in ways non-nerds could understand.
I feel like people want to protect themselves from admitting this season has been mediocre and way inferior to the show’s earlier years - and we waited over two years for it.
People have mentioned before that the ratings for this show have been a bit skewed on this site and I’ve mostly disagreed — but now I honestly can’t say they’re wrong after this one. How you feel about this episode is entirely subjective (imo i thought worst one from this batch so far), but literally half of the…
My personal peak-tv bubble has already burst. As the shows that I started following 5+ years ago have begun ending, I’ve found it increasingly difficult to commit to anything new. There is just too much to choose from, and not enough information out there about each one to help. I’ve more often gone back to channel…
I’m not embarassed that I used to listen to Moby. Play was pretty much the only album that I listened to for half of 2000, the other one being Radiohead’s Kid A.
Yeah, that and when she asks Coulson about the bomb he attaches to the door of Stane’s lab “Oh, wow! What’s that? It’s, like, a little device? It’s, like, a thing that’s going to pick the lock?”
“SpaceX Elon” is just a figurehead. Gwynne Shotwell runs that show, and keeps Elon the fuck out of it as much as possible.
- In two episodes, Jon Cryer’s Lex Luthor has elevated this show from OK/decent to fucking great. He had BETTER be back for Season 5.
My guess is bringing in Lex was the plan all along. You don’t introduce characters who are so tied to the character like Mercy and Otis are, without eventually having the man himself make an appearance (granted for this argument to work please ignore Miss Tessmacher being on the show for two years)
Well at least I now know you’re just entirely nuts. If you thought the last episode was worthy of a B and this one was leagues worse... yeah, I mean to each his own but you seem wholly unfit to review television shows. But okay.
The Moclans also upgraded the Deflectors, so the combined upgrades have now essentially made The Orville a new Defiant.
The Orville’s shields got a Moclan upgrade not long ago and as it was a test, they would be the only ship to have the stronger deflectors.
They did explain how The Orville stands up to the Krill ships as well as it does, but they did so in a properly subtle way. Early on in the episode, the Kaylon reference that they’re performing shield upgrades to the ship (which makes sense given at that point they had total control and were using it to lead their…
I really can’t stand that he and Andy Dick were both part of a top 5 all time sitcom in Newsradio.
Another for the “bizarrely angry Discovery review” pile. This one is better at seeming like it’s not a “waaaaah this doesn’t make me feel like TNG made me feel when I was 9" screed than the ones on Reddit, but that’s all this is.
I agree with Mike. Ron Livingston is profoundly watchable. There’s this amiability to him that is just instantly relatable. I smile when I find out this man is in something, which is far too rare.
Dealing with the challenges presented by the human mind and brain can be Hell. I hope everybody gets through it.
Maybe you should get help for your mental illness too. Look at yourself.
