I agree. Sat on a jury where the prosecution's only evidence was a cop's report. Fuck cops. I'm not going to take their word that anyone is guilty of anything. Just another piece of shit trying to justify his bad behavior and paycheck

We've seen time and again that some police officers regularly use excessive force as a means of showing dominance and ostensibly preventing escalation— when, really, they're often the ones who are escalating the situation into a violent one. They do a dangerous job everyday, but I think it's obvious that the

GoogleGlass or some equivalent camera should be worn by uniformed officers at all times while on duty. The footage should not be accessible to the police, but instead controlled by a neutral/civilian third party and accessible only by court order to verify officer accounts when there is a dispute.

Zero. Zero gut punches are necessary.

This is another reason police should have be video recording everything, for our protection as well as theirs. The fact that it's been proven constantly that trumped up charges against people are used so easily by police is just more reason why they should have evidence of all their actions on the job.

Police should

police should wear vest cameras. This would keep them in check (Maybe) and help in investigations

police pensions should be revoked at the drop of a hat.

It's true that all cops aren't irredeemable violent shitbags like this guy, but it is also true that all cops are complicit in the crimes of irredeemable violent shitbags like this guy.

It's almost like he thinks he's done nothing wrong!

Wow, he attacked her like they were alone in a dark alley, yet they're in broad daylight in the middle of a crowd of people...

But wouldn't a dog with PTSD still be a disturbed and miserable animal even in a sanctuary?

That's a simple answer, but not a realistic one. I honestly don't want the military to spend money on fucking dogs while cutting benefits to actual military families.

I love puppies and dogs and my little guy is a rescue and blah blah blah.

I'm a dog lover. Love dogs. But I'm sorry, let's let the military focus on proper medical care for human soldiers before spending time, attention and money on such few dogs with unprovoked aggression. Priorities, people.

If I get attacked, so be it. It's the internet - I can't please everyone.

Yeah. These dogs were not raised to be pets. I would be far more upset to read about another child or someone else's pet being attacked by one of these dogs.

A lot of these dogs are never going to be suitable as pets because they were not trained to be pets. They are military tools, essentially. They get PTSD from being in the battlefield. They're trained to be aggressive in response to specific behaviors and situations in the field that make them unsuitable for being

From other comments, it sounds like the anti-gay protesters are defending her, not the cop. You know it's bad when...

Thank goodness for phone-cams. Good luck hiding behind the blue curtain, officer.

Pittsburgher here. From what other information I have heard, she was still at least a foot away from the protesters when the police intervened. Also, apparently even the protesters were yelling for the cop to stop. I'm really hoping this guy looses his job and is charged with assault.
