Just chiming in when people start rambling on about how "crazy" Scientology is.

Idk is it any less ridiculous to claim your soul is dirty and sinful when you're born and needs to be cleaned with water at a ceremony? Because most of the nation believes that.

You are right. I don't trust adult men with tween/teen girls in settings like bedrooms, hot tubs, or other private or "intimate" spaces without other trusted adults supervising.

I'm with you.
Furthermore, while it's easy to blame sexual assault on Greek life; it's actually college drinking culture that is the bigger problem. Everybody likes to be able to blame an organization.

I am disturbed by this. A university is now putting itself in the position of regulating the off campus activities of its adult student body by mandating that they can't be associated with certain groups without risk of expulsion.

You're still putting a bad person in a locked building with a whole bunch of other bad people, in an environment that isn't fully controlled (see the crap that goes on in prisons), with a bunch of gang-like behavior. THAT'S supposed to be helpful in reforming people?!

I used to work in a haunted house and I can attest that when a person is unexpectedly grabbed or surprised in any way their automatic reaction is to hit you in the face.

She was arrested AFTER she was grabbed and elbowed him. This picture proves nothing except that she was arrested, which duh, we all know.

Precisely! Add in adrenaline and stress from something like police marching aggressively on peaceful protesters and of course sneaking up and grabbing someone may end painfully for the person doing the grabbing.

Yes, if there's one thing we need more of, it's people who leave prison with newly-developed mental illnesses

I'm a man, and that's my instinct as well. I've even almost hurt friends who thought it was funny to sneak up on the big guy. I think it's a perfectly normal reaction.

Not saying the boob grab was or was not on purpose, but if you're going to grab someone from behind on any part of their body you'd better expect to get hit. That's like sneaking up on someone in a dark house.

As a longtime weightlifter (more in the realm of strength training, not the aesthetics of bodybuilding), I would advocate for MORE equipment in prisons. Stress relief, along with a constructive and often creative outlet. I'm not talking $10,000 treadmills, just real weight sets. The basics.

Interesting article. Particularly where you claim that the strong of mind don't commit crimes.

Most of the people I know (early 40's) neither follow politics nor vote.

AMEN. Slight derail, but restaurant conglomerates (fast food or sit down) cannot say crap like "paying employees a living wage will bankrupt us" while also reporting record profits/growth and paying their CEOs an absurd amount. Those things shouldn't co-exist. Pay your damn workers, businesses. Stop using them to cut

i would like the new adage to be: can't afford to pay your employees, can't afford to run a business.

Waitering is among the easiest casual labour to find. Sometimes people leave their jobs or move to new cities and need to pick up temporary work while looking for something better. Others might just not have any qualifications for better work or are in some middle of nowhere hole where there isn't any good work.

You

Yep. It really boils down to Constantly Offended People get offended over something, because they can never stop being self-important and paternalistic.

White people offended at black person telling jokes about slavery. Moving on.
