It’s for an ego boost and costs nothing. The donation is enough to put Ma, and other dick-head billionaires, in the headlines for good PR. They don’t actually want to do anything significant.

For everyone bashing the author about not donating: do you know how much his net worth is? I doubt it’s in the billions. Furthermore, how do you know he HASN’T donated to other causes prior to the viral outbreak?
