There’s a reason the cost of living is so much lower in these places.  You don’t want to live there.

None of the other big tech firms need to lay off anyone either. They’re continuing to make 10's of billions in profits. It’s just pure unadulterated greed. It may even be politically motivated trying to hurt this administration which is pushing for unions and better pay.

Even if we started to try to reverse it we can’t just stop all use of fossil fuels immediately. It will take years if not decades to completely switch to clean renewable energy.

I’ve seen this on the beaches of a few Caribbean islands, even down as far as Barbados. It seems to mostly affect the Atlantic side of the islands.
