Well, the Bureau of Justice Statistics report is considered to be more accurate and the SPLC likes it, but the most recent data is from 2009-2012.

Murderers! They’re just like you and me! Story at 11. Ugh.
I don’t care if his jury is made up of 6 elephants, a circus clown, a martian, the wolfman and the mummy. I just hope they find him guilty.
“Free speech hating Orientals force elderly patriot from plane!” Would be my guess.
Unfortunately for Trump, it’s only a story now because he couldn’t keep his orange trap shut.
Haha, thanks! I should have said though - the reminder of how awesome Michelle & Barack and Jill & Joe are did lessen the pain a bit :)
I keep (thankfully) forgetting that Mike Pence calls his wife “Mother” but then, inevitably, someone reminds me and I have to throw up in my mouth a little all over again. Ugh.
I have no idea what you are going on about. The reason I posted the demographic information was to show that to simply say that the town is “majority white” was a gross understatement. I think it’s great that this town has it’s first African-American police officer and it’s something that probably should have happened…
Superior, WI isn’t just “majority white” - in 2001, was 94.26% white, 0.68% black, and in 2010 it was 91.5% white, 1.4% black. In a town of about 27,000 people, that translates to about 350 black folks.
Body cameras are at best a band-aid, not a solution, to the problems with law enforcement in this country. IMO, they are proof of how bad things have gotten and how much trust in law enforcement has eroded. We need better screening of potential police officers, better training from day one, and better and more…
I had never heard of this before I read your article, and now I am going to simply pretend that I never read your article and move on with my life as normal.
Pride “in being a backwater group of embarrassing rednecks” hits the nail on the head in more cases than you’d think. A lot of rednecks are indeed proud of being rednecks and celebrate the things about being a redneck that most of us would consider negative - ignorance being at the top of that list.
Even when ridiculous, dramatic and/or violent incidents don’t occur, flying is and has been, at best, a barely tolerable experience for quite some time. I avoid it like the plague.
Through research and community interventions, I’ve learned that a lethal mix of economic, social, cultural, biological, environmental and behavioral factors contribute to the HIV/AIDS devastation in communities of color.
Musicians’ views on social issues are *so* important...unless you don’t like what they say or how they say it and in that case, they should just shut the fuck up about it and sing.
Yes, I’ve heard of hyperbole. Yes, I know *exactly* what it means. No, I am not a humorless asshole. I just think that hyperbole should be used a little more sparingly than it is. Also, I wasn’t being all that serious. So why don’t you all untwist your underwear a little bit and relax?
Yes, yes - all very contrived, stupid and insulting to real working moms. But the worst thing on the internet? Not even close. There are hate groups by the dozen on the internet, there is child pornography on the internet - hell, about 3/4 of reddit and the comments section of Breitbart News on any given day is more…
The way he talks about her makes her out to be a joke and an easy target because of her visibility. She’s not Kate McKinnon’s impression of her. Betsy DeVos isn’t the only problem, but she’s a big one and should not be underestimated.
Good article, but I think it is a mistake for you to try to minimize the threat that Betsy DeVos poses - she is a dangerous idiot, a religious zealot and a billionaire. As a private citizen, she did plenty of damage in Michigan and now she’s the Secretary of Education.
