my personal experience with stoya was watching her tear down my wife for wanting to do a (non-porn) photo shoot with james. stoya was nasty, vindictive, and vicious, and lied copiously in her own blog post about the whole thing. it was some serious woman-on-woman bullshit.

It’s confirmation bias, really. People find out something bad about somebody, and convince themselves that they knew they were like that all along.

I’m not convinced on that, for a few of reasons. The first is that college aged males aren’t referred to as men very often. It’s usually a colloquialism like dudes, and the female equivalents like chicks tend to come off sounding sexist. People like to use the most casual terms available.

What about the gender imbalance in primary education, child care, nursing, and social work? No articles on why we need to encourage more men into those fields? No articles on why the gender imbalance there is a problem? No one is taking issue with the gender imbalance in prisons, work-place mortality, or homelessness?

As a guy can I say this is nonsense. How about the emotional stain on men who aren’t allowed to show emotion because they have to be masculine and strong? I am not saying better or worse, but the issues of gender expectations go both ways.

Hey, former Gap employee as well! I hated on-call shifts, but at least when I worked with the company you could just call a few hours ahead and they’d let you know whether or not you were needed. I cannot imagine constantly showing up and being sent home, gah.
