such a fantastic, loving, fundamentally kind show in a way that is as consistent as it is shocking. incredible achievement, that. the movie really was such a near-perfect adventure, too. so good. all of “steven universe future” has been great too, but it has all felt like epilogue, like winding down for a graceful

As someone who loves the show enough that I write weekly reviews of it, I’m glad it’s ending. I’ll miss it, but it’s a wonderful thing for a story to end without dawdling or jumping the shark.

It was, without question, a Black sitcom that centered the lives of Black women and the different ways they navigated love and their environment daily. At its core, however, the series featured stories so damn funny they could connect with anyone.

I love this show. I often turn on Hulu and let it play through multiple episodes. Even if it starts as background noise, I always end up sitting down to watch.

If Bruce Willis was playing himself, I might see the issue. I might even see it if he was playing John McClain, in-universe. But he’s playing a guy named ‘Paul’. Not a big deal since this happens in shows (especially sitcoms) all the time.

I can support this.

Now playing

I only *just* came across this old interview, and I’ve got to say I am in awe of Sofia Vergara and how she handles herself around creeps.

Who needs Friends?

I just want to say that I like FRIENDS, because I know AV Club commenters do not.

Anyone else get the feeling that Jack Black passed on this first and that’s why they went with Chris Pratt?

It looks like a Dreamworks Movie that snuck into the Pixar Studio.

I mean, both Titanic and Return of the King won 11 Oscars, so it’s close.

Whoa whoa whoa, slow down... Gone With the Wind has 8 Oscars. No movie has 13 Oscars.

Yes.

“Can we get, like, Gone With The Wind back, please?”

His message is squarely aimed at elderly white people.  Gone with the Wind is iconic particularly with that demographic.  The dog whistle is lagniappe.

Does it count as empathy if he only employed it when it would personally benefit him?

“Still, the slow progression of the plot hinders the story as a whole and leaves viewers hung up on the protagonist’s lack of empathy and ability to talk to people around her without a snarky comment.”

She really is a great actress--sad to hear this is mediocre, but I’m excited to see her grow and do more things!
