It’s so ripe for some kind of 4th wall breaking reference to her ubiquitous verizon commercials too.

Well, no star for *you* then.

You know who else does this? Everybody.

I mean, it’s like the lego movie. Like is it just a long ad for the thing? Yes, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be done at least entertainingly, if not artistically.

I’m kelpless with laughter. Seriously, I’m eeling over.

I mean I don’t think she’s stumping for it, she’s just saying “yeah, sure, if someone wanted to do that, more power too ‘em”. I agree that other than trading on the name, I’m not sure what possible angle it would have to “continue” Friends in any meaningful way (assuming that was even a thing one wanted to do).

Yeah, I’m always surprised at the hate Iron Man 2 gets. To be fair, it’s been a while, but I recall it hanging together pretty well (possible on sheet Downey charm alone, but still). I think Thor: Dark World still holds the low water mark for it’s sheer unmemorability.

It’s also like full Mandela effect because I would have sworn up and down he said “Erf” until I went back and watched the clip where he quite clearly says “Earth”.

But if he doesn’t come there’s probably no way that Lando can help Leia and Chewie escape without Vader being distracted by Luke. It seems probable that if Luke doesn’t try to help, Han, Leia, and Chewie all end up dead.

“But it says “sex” and “babies” in the same paragraph!”

That role is why I always greet my friend Ian by going “...Liam?”

Oh holy shit I’ve seen clue probably a dozen times but I never realized that was Hesseman!

I had the same issue with Critical Role. I listened to a few and enjoyed them well enough, but there’s just *so much*. I have been enjoying the Dimension 20 D&D stuff (lots of it free on YouTube), which has more manageable seasons (though we’re still talking 8-14 episodes that are 1.5-2 hours long).

I think that is giving Twitter too much credit for being representative.

I’ve never seen the movie, but I remember someone showing me that scene and it was like, what the fuck?

Which I’ve never heard of, but I’m not really the target audience. When I hear Magnolia, I just think of stereos.

I think it’s a “just” because one presumes the Sarlaac has been out here getting fed all kind of badasses for decades? Centuries? And no one in that time had some ordinance to blow their way out. I think it’s fine to say “Fett is just that awesome/the armor is just that protective”, but it does kind of seem like the

True, but this means we can also blame her for all that~

I was 18 in 1991. I remember I really liked this movie and all my friends were mad that I dragged them to see it and they hated it.

Yeah, I really liked the idea of it, and I liked the central conflict, but it just felt like the net result was just something for 11 to do while everyone else got in trouble - I would have preferred if it led to her either doing something that would have consequences OR having 8 have some kind of change of heart and
