I can so so so relate to this. Maybe you can find some minimal comfort knowing you aren’t the only person dealing with the same thing right now? I know it does for me - not that I’m at all happy that you’re unhappy, but in a weird way it makes me feel just a little less lonely and a little less lousy. I don’t know

whoa. lucky Prince!

Really? Late 80's / Early 90's wasn’t it for anyone else? That’s... disappointing.

I love this, thank you.

I’m friends with humans aging in range from 22 to 79. As in I could sit in a coffee shop with either and have as equally as good a time.

Who/ What/ When/ Where was your sexual awakening? Post it in this thread, without judgement!

Mine was when I was 12 years old - thanks entirely to one Mr. Billy Idol and the video for ‘Cradle of Love’.

I’m sorry - that’s gotta be tough. Ultimately you will make the best (and most informed) decision for yourself. And that’s awesome your husband is being supportive. It’s gonna be a really good thing to have someone in your corner, whatever the outcome.

oof I’m feeling you on ALL of this.

I’m terribly sorry you’re having to deal with this. That has to be really scary, and you shouldn’t feel bad for “whining” about it. I’m glad you said something, and I really hope that you get to spend out the rest of your days with two legs that are (mostly, if not totally) pain free.

Have you thought about getting a

True... but we’re still talking about a minority that DO that numbers into the millions, and that’s millions too many IMO. And they seem really intent on causing as much damage as possible to the rest of us primarily peaceful living creatures that just want to get through life without getting sexually assaulted,

re: the child abuse connection - does this come as a surprise to anyone? It’s about as shocking to learn that people that torture and kill animals move on to killing people whereas the people that rape animals are the kind of people that would go on to rape other people.

Dear Everyone,

New Policy Update: Stop hurting animals. Stop hurting other people.

Thanks.

That’s what I did this time around - with the Vivitrol shot (combined with therapy & meds & AA) instead of the Naltrexone pill. Definitely had positive results in terms of reducing / eliminating cravings and lowering consumption significantly. Though “hangovers” were replaced with super deep depression, and irrational

Here you can be mad about this too since you never hear about them (and there was only an estimated 60 left TOTAL in 2015). My beloved Vaquita* :(

OK first of all these are entirely baseless assumptions you’re making based on nothing I actually said and you know nothing about me. I am actively interviewing for jobs in an attempt to break into an entirely new field for me (community mental and behavior health) and my lack of getting hired yet has much more to do

You’re right. I don’t know if you do or do not do any hiring. I just hope you don’t.

> I wouldn’t want to hire someone with a serious addiction in his past and a Jesus addiction in his present

I never said you should feel shameful for knowing about his past. It’s just unfortunate, because you shouldn’t know. You do though and there’s nothing you can do about that and I think it’s great that you are giving him a chance despite this fact. You’re hiring him because he is more than qualified for the position

Well I guess it’s good that you’re not the one hiring him (or anyone else) because that’s pretty blatant discrimination on your part and that is, in most professional environments, illegal.

Also, this might be a good time to brush up on your knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act and HIPAA (along with any laws specific to your state). I would also immediately refrain from discussing the fact that he is in recovery with anyone.

This is a tough one. I don’t envy you for having to make this decision and I especially don’t envy him for his position - because I am in his position. I have over a year missing on my resume that I have to account for in interviews (and I’m currently seeking employment) from when I was an in an in-patient rehab.

Reason #549857943857985 why Facebook is awful.

Boycotting the store, particularly if the assault didn’t happen on-site and the store opted to not take immediate corrective action in the matter, is super lame. If it happened off-site, then the store has nothing to do with it. And firing someone (assuming the person is
