Toyota sold 250,000 Tacomas last year. I’d venture to say that most of those were fairly basic. Certainly more basic than Denali GMCs and Platinum F150s.

They’re also in a red-hot segment with cash on the hood. All the people unwilling to pay over list for a RAV4 hybrid or a Palisade/Telluride (Paluride?) must be heading straight for the GM dealership. When two models with the same official MSRP are priced upwards of ten grand apart due to ADM vs incentives, that makes

Both the Traverse and Enclave are good solid vehicles. Because you don’t like them doesn’t make them bad.

I had one as a rental car a while back. It did what was needed without being super annoying.

That philosophy might be why they are.

Its all President Trumps fault. If he would have given away tax dollars to start government programs, I am just sure that the brand would have survived. If only President Trump would have started some junior motorcycle training course in middle of NYC then Harley may have had a shot. Sadly you Conservative fuckbags

Of course this was the base trim on both models which is all my parents are ever going to shop despite the fact they’re richer than 99% of the population.

Sounds like they are smart to me. Just because you have the money does not mean you have to spend it

To each their own. Having just returned from a trip where temperatures were in the single digits though, I have to say remote start is one feature I really appreciate. And heated seats.

It really helps a lot. My dad didn’t actually know how much money he had in the bank for probably half a decade or more. He just kept working and adding the profits. He owns a business with the same single employee that has been their since he started in the early 80s.

Maybe that’s why they’re richer than most, they have financial restraint

Yet the difference between the bottom end crv and rdx is pretty significant. Especially when you pay for all your vehicles up front in cash like my parents do.

You don’t necissarily have to spend money to find something you enjoy in life. My dad would much rather be sitting in his free bass boar that he threw and old office chair in for a seat than enjoying anything he could spend money on.

Yeah, the Equinox is more the competitor to the CRV. I only brought up the blazer because it is more the competitor to the RDX that I ended up with.

On the other hand, sometimes you wonder what all that money in the bank gets you. My dad died with a huge bank account, but he never really got to enjoy what the decades of hard work got him. Maybe it would have been nice to have heated seats in the last decade of life.

I’m not even talking about the blazer. Last year the blazer wasn’t out and the Equinox was (and really may still be) the competitor to the CR-V.

Yep. That was the point I really wanted to highlight. In the day and age of the average car price being well into the 30k range, lower trim lines do exist and imo, you aren’t loosing out on much buy going for it. Some of the wealthiest people I know drive fairly moderate vehicles rather than loaded Navigators.

Your parents didn’t get to be richer than 99% of the population by paying for useless doodads on their cars.

I drove a pretty basic CRV for ten years, and my sister has one that’s just a few years old that I’ve ridden around in. I wouldn’t call it “impressive” I’d just call it functional. And comfortable. When I went looking for a new car, I did sit in the top trim CRV and yeah, even that wasn’t impressive. Which is why I

I sat inside a crv about a year ago when my mom was searching for a new car in that segment. Honestly I wasn’t impressed. The chevy felt a lot nicer inside and the rav 4 looked better but I never sat in one. The chevy was a hell of a lot cheaper too. Of course this was the base trim on both models which is all my
