Oh, honey. You're so dumb. It's like watching a puppy with three legs try to run. It tries so hard, but just... can't... do it.

Oh wow - you googled this guy, saw that he was fat, and then just ASSUMED that it was part of this post - that is hilarious!

Where was the guy body-shaming in this?

random troll is random.

That makes marginally more sense than calcium. At least it's something you can be allergic to. But people with casein allergies have to avoid all dairy, period, no exceptions. She would have to know that, from her doctor.

In Sharon's story, she probably meant (or said) "casein", not "calcium"

"No, ma'am, actually the sun is going to remain in its place as it has for millions of years. The Earth, however, will continue spinning and proceeding on its orbit as planned; would you like me to ask a manager to pull the emergency brake?"

I don't know why anyone is surprised that the group of 40 had no qualms about not calling ahead! Hell, they thought the SUN should stand still for them.

A walk-in 40... I'm crying. I'm crying for the server. I'm crying for the host and bussers who had to put that table together. How does a group of 40 people not have a single person in it that says MAYBE THIS IS A BAD IDEA AND MAYBE THIS IS RUDE.

Posted this last week but it was late and I'm in the greys so I guess no one ever saw it... will try again

I worked in the food service industry off and on for 25 years. In that time, not ONCE did my employer make up the difference between the tipped employees minimum wage plus tips and the regular minimum wage! NOT. ONE. TIME. I don't know anyone who has had an employer do that!

Oh please, tell me more about the system I worked my way up through for a decade from host to server to manager, before becoming an employment lawyer. Tell me all about how the law fixes everything because everyone follows it and it's so cheap and easy to sue them if they don't. Please tell me; I need a good laugh

I finally stopped lurking because YAAAAAAAAAAAAS! I rarely see this pointed out on tipping threads. Pretty much all the large corporate chain restaurants handle tip out that way. Also most if not all have IRS agreements that state that if servers are not claiming 8-10% of TOTAL sales then that money will be allocated

I have never known a single server that actually succeeded in getting their employer to make up the difference. Not one.

There was a scandal here in the UK some years ago when it came out that credit card tips at certain restaurants were being used to top up staff salaries to the minimum wage. People were horrified at the idea that tips weren't 'additional' but being used as basic salary. I'm horrified that this is your normal.

From her bio: "She runs, reads, and eats way too much and is passionate about humanism..."

THIS IS NOT A DRILL, PEOPLE! WE ARE AT DOUCHECON FIVE!

Even easier than that: download a free tipping app on to your phone. This is 2015, we have the technology.
