I work at a small orchard and we will cover our six rows of cherries with nets to keep the birds out. Alas we had a late freeze in April that killed all of the blossoms. Took out all of this years cherries, plums and peaches....2020 strikes again. We literally turned off the cold store. We still have apples for the

The pale-colored ones in the header image make it look like a bowl of Berry Berry Kix.

I have some wild raspberry bushes in my yard. When the berries are ripe, it’s a like a royal rumble to get to them before the wildlife. One morning I woke up to see a couple of robins and bluejays, a chipmunk, and a squirrel all going to town on MY berries. I ran out there and grabbed as many as I could. By the

When I was a kid, we had a dog that tried to eat virtually everything, although he gave up on both cigarette butts (Hey, his people were sticking them into their mouths) and soap. One of his favorites was tacos; whenever we made tacos, we’d have to make up a bowl for him with the shell broken up, then meat, lettuce,

One of my parent’s cats, Dr. Seuss, love green beans, tortilla chips, and doughnuts. She was a sweet, weird cat.

My now passed on cat, Bailey was a fiend for celery.  If you opened the fridge and she could smell celery, she would go wild.  She would meown and paw at you.  I don’t know if she actually did more than chew on it and roll on it but, damn, she did love celery.

From reading these, it seems like there are a lot of weird cats! We had one once that just loved cantaloupe like nothing else.

We had an orange tabby who would go after spinach. If we dropped any on the floor, it was gone. He’d also lick the margarine off of our toast, and he LOVED Five Guys’ French fries. 🧡

So sorry to hear of your loss, Puck; I’m sure he was a very good dog indeed. <3

One my cats can’t get enough arugula. She’ll pluck it out of the salad spinner or directly out of your salad and just chew chew chew. The other is a fiend for celery. She’ll lick it to death, and loves nothing more than rubbing her face all over your hands after you’ve handled it.

My cat,all black save a white blaze on her chest, loves to gobble cobwebs. If she can sneak past us into the garage or laundry room she’ll emerge face obscured in webs and licking her chops.

Had a cat that loved canned beets. Weirdest damn cat ever.

My chihuahua (who I just had to put to sleep yesterday) loved raw carrots. He could smell carrots. If we were eating them in a different room from where he was, he’d trot right in, hop on the lap of the carrot eater, make eye contact, and patiently (and intensely) wait to be given his due. My partner and I would give

My parents’ border collie/Aussie mix demanded carrots nightly, and my cat will scream bloody murder if I do not share at least half of a can of peas with him.

My 10 year old Shar Pei now the grumpy old man that he has always acted like. If something is beneath his dignity, he turns his back on it and chuffs a couple of times before walking away.

My late dog King was a very meat driven guy most of his life. He would do almost anything for chicken. When he was about 10, he had some health issues and suddenly decided that he wanted to try things he previously made faces at, like oranges. They became his favorite thing, for the rest of his life. He got very nasty

My cat is a fiend for popcorn. I don’t know how it got started and I regret that she ever tasted it. She will find you and hunt you down for popcorn. Sometimes I’ll eat it standing up to get away from her and she will try to climb things she’s never climbed before to swipe at it (the curtains! The fricking wall!). The

Tater Tot is my fuzzy little rage monster of a dog. Fifteen pounds of pure disrespect. Unless you have an actual tater tot, in which case she’s laser-focused on getting one. My wife is to blame; she likes to make her into a cannibal.

I have a dog who really likes spicy food. pickled jalapenos, leftovers with hot sauce, you name it, she’d eat it. At first I was careful about giving her spicy food because I thought it was bad for dogs, but nope, they just normally avoid it.

She’s a really strange pupper.

I had a cat who looooved broccoli. Just plain steamed broccoli, no butter, salt, or sauce needed.
