My mom fell and went to the doctor asked for an x ray because she was pretty sure she broke both her knee caps. Doctor refused saying she wouldn’t be able to walk. 10 years later she is getting arthroscopic surgery and guess what? Turned out she had  scar tissue from 2 broken knee caps.
