The people that hated the Joker before it was even released and continue to double down on it now that it’s successful are just the flip-side of the people that hated Captain Marvel before it was even released and continue to double down on it once it was successful. They’re both annoying and petty and just because

I’m not a fucking stalker, dipshit. Stop using that ridiculous term.

You are amazingly stupid. The maga chud of woke kinja.

Go be a maga chud somewhere else

Which I did repeatedly and patiently. Your response was to be a troll. Even using the standard right wing tactic of I just want to ask some questions. You are the left wing equivalent of a maga chud.

You are continuing the exact same trolling I just described. You are so lacking in self awareness it is amazing that you have gotten far enough in life to even type.

I just can’t believe how far she has fallen since once starring in Green Lantern.

Good. Your questions are bullshit. You go around the kinja sites looking for people to attack for not believing things the exact same way as you. You have no interest in social justice, racism or anything along those lines. You just want a reason to be outraged and to go on the attack.

I’ll just say that I don’t think borrowing is a mortal sin as long as you acknowledge your influences, keep the borrowings at a superficial level and strive for something new. Nothing’s completely original, and anything worth borrowing from was likely built more through incremental steps of marginal innovation,

Did the people who gave Todd Phillips shit for borrowing from Martin Scorsese do the same to Christopher Nolan when he borrowed from Michael Mann?

This is, sadly, the truth.

Let’s be honest, you definitely wanted there to be violence at screenings so you’d have more excuses for quick click gens. It’s alright to admit it.

Did we see the same movie?  I thought Joker’s trick was putting a pencil in a guy’s eye.

Full disclosure, I didn’t even really like Joker that much. But the AV Club really does seem to be overcompensating a bit with all the eye-rolling, considering their own reviewer gave it a B+

Yeah, the constant pettiness, or at least the appearance of it, about the film is at this point just weird. Especially since while it was critically divisive film, there were a lot of really good critical reviews of it and it was also a massive hit, so is it really that surprising that it would also do well during

Wow, the AV Club sure likes sticking it to that Joker guy! He must work there or something.

Example in point, exhibit A: random internet commenter infers personal views of another internet commenter based on his/her online comments regarding the consumption and enjoyment of works by a racist author and whether it has any real world value currently to the average layman.

Is that the result though? Or have you now become so confused as to where the racism ends and the existential dread begins that you have completely lost even a basic understanding of the material, for the sake of better understanding it’s author.

Is it though? Is it really? What benefit does that ultimately serve? Are you going to solve racism? Dissolve the racism contained in Lovecrafts works? If you aren’t an academic studying this, what relevance does it have?

I really don’t get the need to say this every bloody five seconds. Why do we need this pointed out time and time again, specifically with H P Lovecraft? Go back (not even that far), especially in Western history, and you will find racists everywhere, people who “owned” slaves. People who’ve won the Nobel Peace prize
