It sounds like it’s more of a bolt in deal on the later model trucks. Custom work and rare parts would sorta defeat the purpose here.

Easy to find out... Toss a dial indicator on it and measure it.

Outside of the motor, that is pretty rare. I would have expected mucho death wobble at some point in it’s life and probably at least 1 transmission and/or clutch.

Gotta agree here... I haven’t cared one bit about a Mitsubishi car since about 1996.

Angus Beef Angela

That’s a little too extreme for my taste. I got a new wiper motor and stuffed it in later on that evening.

*Your mileage may vary

What barren wilderness are you located in that doesn’t have a NAPA? Fairbanks Alaska has TWO NAPAs and they’re damn near inside the arctic circle!

ehhh... There’s a time and budget for every project and Autozone parts seems just fine here. It’s a $500 wasp nest at this point.

Returning it to the Earth would be a real shame unless it’s already too far gone (frame rot and such) to realistically come back. It seems like the perfect candidate to donate to a high school auto trades program if there are any decent ones left around you. I know way back when I was in one they didn’t actually let

I hear ya... :(

4 banger Ranger or S10 then. Great on gas, simple to work on, transparent body isn’t a mechanical issue.

I admit I’m not entirely up to speed on all Scout engine options, but weren’t the AMC 196.5 and 232 I6s optional equipment? If so, a 258 and even a 4.0 would drop directly in.

ehhh.. Not really... I straight up gave away a good ‘76 K1500 rolling chassis w/transfer case a few years ago. Buddy parted out a ‘78 K2500 rolling chassis with transfer case AND transmission (TH-400 even) go for $250. Both trucks “ran” when parked.

Gotta get something that is body on frame to have any chance at all. The C20 would have been a good option for you.

How do you not miss beater shopping? Driving away a new ride for $400, and the DGAFness of beating it, is as close to the feeling of theft as one can get without actual charges being filed.

Can confirm.. Own 74 K1500 in need of 3rd body on same chassis.

‘cept she be a 2 wheeler.

It’s a $600 3/4 truck with almost 500k on the clock... Ain’t no body worried about repairing rust.

1 and 4 certainly need to come home with me. Sadly 4 is already off ebay and 1 is going to sell for way more than $1k (up to $1250 right now with nearly a 5 days to go).
