Yup, that is Insomnia. It took me a few false starts to get into, but once it hooked me, I loved it.

Agreed. I adore his novels, but the short stories and novellas are the bulk of my favorites. There was a Nightmares and Dreamscapes anthology series that I thoroughly enjoyed, but I’m not finding it streaming anywhere. It had solid actors and good direction, as I recall.

You’re hired, officially. The idea of doppelganger actors is another gem!

I love the idea of them running concurrently!  It’d probably be long time in production, tho, with the same actors for both.  Still a great idea.

Right? How does one not at least go back and read The Talisman after enjoying Black House?

While I’d love to give a big yes to Insomnia, it just seems so BIG to try to parse down to a film. I could see it as a series, but all the delicious ties to the greater King universe would be lost.

Hooray for Rose Madder love!  It’s never very high on the lists I see, but I loved this book.  Viva Ze Bool!

I’m not sure of the younger age threshold, but I believe 18 was the max age for the walkers. You are probably correct that this wouldn’t translate too well into a film, but it’s such a tight little story, it’s always be near the top of my list for adaptations.

Well, which is it? Are we dirty, dirty whores who don’t deserve the liberty to make our own choices or are we lonely cat ladies?

Other than desserts, there was nothing she wouldn’t smother in ketchup.

A woman I worked with put ketchup, in very liberal doses, on EVERYTHING.  Three day old Chinese food?  Smother it in ketchup!  Out at a Mexican restaurant and want to add something to your carne asada?  KETCHUP.  It was very bizarre and she was ashamed of her addiction, but it was one of the most endearing things

I’ve been predicting for years that the twist will be that Kim actually was still with Saul during the events of Breaking Bad (and we just never saw her because we never saw much of Saul’s personal life), and she reunites with Gene during the post-BrBa timeline.

While all Portishead is excellent driving music, The Rip is up there at the very top for night driving on forest roads. I forget they exist for years at a time and when reminded, they go on rotation for the next month or so. New rotation begins now.

I would watch the shit out of seven Brad Dourifs.

Did AV Club kill their weekly Reasonable Discussions post a while back and I just happened to miss it?

Now playing

He is pretty terrible in Punisher, no doubt, and he’s horrible in Westworld, as well. Having said that, I saw a YouTube video of him reading thirst tweets and he seems both sweet and deeply humble.

We buy those, as well, and find them almost as tasty as when we get them from our neighbor with chickens. I also love the little insert that introduces one of the hens that comes in each carton.

Only as an occasional guest to voice their craziest thoughts, me thinks. She may be blond, which we know is their preferred, but she’s definitely not camera friendly. I mean, the size of her neck alone pretty much disqualifies her as a Fox regular.

No joke.  I saw a preview for it the other night and it looked laughably stupid.  I’m kinda surprised to see it here as the top pick.
